Jiang Lanfen turned to look at him, her eyes filled with disgust. She finally realized she had married the most foolish man.
"Are you certain you did not use drugs before coming here?" Xin Yan inquired as she stared at him, hatred palpable and thick in her eyes.
"What?" Yuan Renshu questioned, he was not expecting such a reply from her.
"I think you heard me correctly, why do you think so highly of yourself? "I believe the person with whom you cheated on Jiang Lanfen would not be pleased to see you as a groveling ex," Xin Yan sneered.
She could not understand how she could have fallen in love with such a fool in the first place. She was not sure if she should thank him for killing her and giving her a second chance to reunite with her family.
"You know what? I changed my mind, I won’t give him any shares from my company, you are dismissed!" Xin Yan gave her final decision.
She felt disgusted with him and the best way to deal with him was to cut off all possible exits for him.
"What? You cannot do that," Yuan Renshu yelled. He wasn’t concerned about trying to convince her.
He needed the money because Shi Bei was already pregnant and broke at the time.
Jiang Lanfen felt at ease watching him beg. She believed that her rage was justified. She may have loved him, but he decided to show her his true colors, and she was relieved someone was dealing with him.
"Li Qiang, I would rather not stay here anymore, let’s go home, Meimei and Chuxi miss us," Xin Yan could not be bothered with him anymore.
She felt repulsed just by being in his presence, in fact, she was repulsed by all of them, and she felt suffocated. She did not want to be reminded of her past while in the same room.
Not only that, but she was reminded of her foolishness, which bothered her greatly. Li Qiang noticed her bad mood and he sighed.
"You have to take care of them; we do not want bad eggs in our company," Li Qiang said, appointing one of his close associates to handle the company’s problems.
"Let’s go," he said to her, and she walked to him with slow strides. Her face was pale and this got Li Qiang worried.
"What is wrong?" Li Qiang asked immediately after they were out of the conference room.
Xin Yan looked up to him, and she did not know when tears fell from her eyes. Li Qiang panicked, he was confused and worried as to why there were tears in her eyes all of a sudden.
"Hey, do not cry, I am here, aren’t I? You can tell me what is bothering you, I can’t bear to see you cry," Li Qiang wiped the tears from her eyes, but more tears fell.
Xin Yan had never been treated this way, even by her grandparents and brother. Whenever she cried, she was not consoled because she was being trained to become strong. As her grandmother would say, there is no room for weaknesses and crying was a weakness.
"It is nothing, I just thought of my previous life, I was stupid, wasn’t I?" She chuckled while she sniffled.
"You were not stupid, you just acted on your emotions and I believe everyone makes mistakes," Li Qiang said to her, and she smiled at him through teary eyes.
"Are you sure of what you said?" She chuckled and he smiled at her.
"I am sure, I believe, rather I know that I have made numerous mistakes, but I never let that weigh me down, instead I learn from it and that is what you are doing presently," he assured her and she chuckled.
"Thank you, you know, you are the first person to wipe my tears and console me," she said, shaking her head as she looked up to the ceiling.
He leaned against the wall, sensing that she had something to say, and he was always willing to listen.
"Anytime I cried, my grandparents would chastise me, and why was this? My grandmother would always say there is no room for weakness; therefore I should not cry,
When she said that, I would cry more, but she would never console me; instead, she would lock me in a room and ask me to reflect on my mistakes, which caused me to grow up strong.
I think the accident of that year messed with my brains, I have always been perceptive, I would have known that Yuan Renshu and Jiang Lanfen were snakes, but I guess I lost perceptive skills," she explained to him and she was glad.
He actually listened to her. Again, he was the only one she could confess her real feelings to him. She loved her grandparents and her brother, but she loved Li Qiang the most, but of course, her kids came first.
Li Qiang was always ready to listen to her and he never judged her. Instead, he always gave her advice and she was glad she was reborn.
"You know, this is what makes you, you are always ready to learn from your mistakes as you would rather not make such a mistake again and this is the reason I love you," Li Qiang confessed to her and she blushed.
"You really have your way with words," she said, shyly smiling. If she had been seated, her legs would have been flapping in the air.
"Well, I only know how to talk sweetly to you," he said, raising his brows at her.
She laughed at his comical antics. She could not believe she was married to such a wonderful man. She was also satisfied because she had given him two children.
But she knew that this was just the beginning. She had taken over the company, that was the first step of her plans.
Now, Jiang Lanfen had walked into her trap with her legs. Thankfully, Li Qiang was smart, they did not chat in front of the conference room.
"What is your next move?" Li Qiang asked as they walked to the parking lot.
"What else? Jiang Lanfen had already walked into the trap I had carefully laid out for her, it is time for me to deal with her," Xin Yan had a profound look in her eyes.
Li Qiang nodded. He liked the way she was. He did not need her to change, and she did not need to pity her enemies; instead, she should attack them in order to prevent them from attacking her.
