"What's going on here?" She questioned with her brows raised.
Chen Wenling immediately straightened up on hearing her voice. The last thing she would want is for her to be criticized.
"President," Gao Yang stood up immediately he noticed Li Qiang and Xin Yan.
Not willing to be beaten by him, Chen Wenling also rose up and greeted them.
"I will ask again, what's going on here?" Xin Yan squinted her eyes as she looked at the both of them. Li Qiang didn't say anything, he only stood behind her as he watched the show.
Chen Wenling gulped in fright. Her president was too scary.
"I actually bumped into him which caused us to get into conflict," Chen Wenling immediately explained.
Gao Yang looked at her in surprise. She was willing to give into her mistake. She was actually scared of her president.
"Chen Wenling, apologize," Xin Yan ordered and she gulped in fright.
"I'm sorry Assistant Yang," Chen Wenling apologized immediately. This came as a surprise to him as he only looked at her in shock.
"The same goes for you Gao Yang, arguing with a lady, you really need some training," Li Qiang spoke up.
Gao Yang looked at his president in surprise. He shrank back when he saw Li Qiang's gaze.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have argued with you," he apologized also.
"Now that that's settled, why don't we go to the private lounge?" Xin Yan tilted her head as she looked at the person standing behind her as though asking for permission.
"Sure, lead the way," the last statement was directed to Gao Yang who led them to the lounge.
Immediately the group left, the people broke out into discussions.
"That's President Li and President Xin."
"The news is legit, they are getting married."
"I find them cute, they look very compatible."
"But wasn't President Xin dating a guy called Yuan Renshu?" Someone asked curiously.
"You don't say, I have a friend who happens to work at Xin's Corporation, he informed me about the incident of President Xin breaking up with Yuan Renshu, she didn't forget to ridicule him."
"Then that means, Xin Yan is safe to marry President Li, they are both compatible and they are the best partners for each other."
"I also heard a news, it seemed like Yuan Renshu had cheated on Xin Yan which led her to break up with him."
"That's too bad but it's good, he's not worth it."
They were all discussing the matter with fervency. Meanwhile, the parties involved were seated in the private lounge as they ordered meal as it was already lunchtime.
"President, president Xin," Gao Yang handed some files over to the both of them.
"Thank you," Xin Yan thanked him. He nodded before walking to another room alongside Chen Wenling.
"This is the plans we have made for the marriage, just so you know, no one is allowed to ask for a divorce," Xin Yan was taken aback as she paused in her flipping.
"Why do you say so?" She dropped the file, rested on her hands as she stared at him deeply.
Li Qiang coughed slightly. He cursed within himself. Why did he feel flustered just by staring into her eyes?
"Yanyan, your gaze causes me to feel nervous," he spoke as he let out a dry chuckle.
"So Li Qiang can actually be nervous? That's.... Shocking," she pointed out with a teasing smile.
"It only means I am an human, there's no reason for me to always have a blank expression on my face," Xin Yan raised her eyebrows to his words. It seemed he was in sync with what the rumors were saying.
"So you mean to say the rumors about you being a cold demon is actually not true?" Xin Yan had a shocked look, it was fake though and they could both tell.
"I'm only a demon in the business world, the rumors aren't totally true, they just don't know the real deal," Li Qiang was willing to exchange words with her.
"Then which is the real you?" Xin Yan was interested.
"The one I'm showing to you," he replied simply.
Xin Yan chuckled, "so you mean to say the great President Li is actually shameless?" Xin Yan had a surprised look as though she had just discovered a big secret.
"Why do you think that way?" Li Qiang could not help but look at her with an helpless sigh. Sometimes, he wondered what was always going on in that head of hers.
"Pardon me but that's how I find you, I just didn't expect you to actually be that way," Xin Yan pouted her lips as she shook her head.
"I'm not shameless," he clarified, "I'm just blunt in my speech," he continued.
"Isn't it the same thing?" Xin Yan tilted her head as she threw a strawberry into her mouth.
"It's not, compared to me, I feel Yanyan has a lot of things she's hiding," Li Qiang muttered.
This seemed to cause Xin Yan to be flustered. Li Qiang squinted at her, 'was there really something she was hiding,' he questione himself.
The atmosphere suddenly became tense and quiet which was very awkward for Xin Yan.
"I think what President Li is trying to say is that I'm hiding my strength," Xin Yan looked at him as she came up with a believable excuse.
Li Qiang nodded, not pressing the issue anymore. Xin Yan heaved a sigh of relief. She didn't want anyone to know what she had gone through in her previous life which caused her death.
Her eyes glinted with a sharp look as she thought about her death in her previous life. Her hands clenched underneath the table.
She took a deep breath in order to stabilise her emotions before she pushed a plate of strawberries to Li Qiang. The waiters had not yet brough their order.
Li Qiang didn't say anything but he had seen the hatred in her eyes. It was so strong and it caused him to frown. He knew there was something she was hiding. Her change was too drastic.
It felt as though she had gone through some sort of disaster which caused her to be mature. He wanted to ask her but he was sure she would not tell him, they were not that close yet.
