Rebirth: The Heiress Plans Her Revenge Chapter 41

"Are you two really married?" Grandma Xin was thrilled as she stared in surprise.

"Yes, Grandma, I apologize for not informing you, but I really like Cheng Luiying," he admitted, solidifying her place in his heart.

"Silly boy, let me have a look at my granddaughter in law," Grandma Xin was overjoyed as she held Cheng Luiying’s hands and smiled.

"Old Mistress," Cheng Luiying called out, unsure of how to address her, so she addressed her as she usually did.

"Little girl, do not address me so formally. You are married to Xin Yi, so you can also call me grandma." Grandma Xin expressed her displeasure at Cheng Luiying’s formal address to her.

Cheng Luiying obediently called out, "Grandma."

"Good, good, you are really beautiful; I am your grandmother, and I will always support you; look, old man, your grandson already has a wife, and she is so beautiful." Grandma Xin took a good look at Cheng Luiying, who appeared embarrassed.

"You are such a rascal; it took you long enough." Grandpa Xin was about to strike him with his walking stick, but he was quick to avoid.

"Good girl, Xin Yi may be our grandson, but you can come to meet us if you both are having problems," he said, casting a dismissive glance at his grandson, who was speechless.

"Yes, Grandpa," she said with a smile, and she relaxed right away.

Compared to her own family, she thought the Xins were very nice.

’What exactly are you doing, Luiying? You have severed all ties with your family; you no longer need to think about them,’ she shook her head, letting go of all the negative thoughts.

"Yanyan and Qiang will be here soon," Grandpa Xin stated, as Xin Yi rolled his eyes slightly.

Despite his belief that Li Qiang was far more trustworthy than Yuan Renshu, the fact that his beloved sister was already married did not change.

"I have decided to retire from racing; it is too exhausting and full of accidents; I just want to spend my time with Cheng Luiying, so she will not notice my absence," Xin Yi abruptly announced while they were in the living room.

His announcement caught the three of them off guard, but the next sentence that followed was even more surprising.

"In that case, why do not you join our company? I would need a helping hand, and my brother has always excelled in business management," said Xin Yan, and everyone turned to face the entrance.

"Yanyan, you have arrived!" Grandma Xin exclaimed, standing up excitedly.

"Grandma, Grandpa," she called out, smiling as she walked in with Li Qiang.

Li Qiang called out, "Grandma, Grandpa."

Grandpa Xin was about to respond but paused when he noticed several packages being carried into the house by servants.

"This?" He pointed out, perplexed.

"Just a small gift from me to you; I can not come here empty-handed," Li Qiang politely responded.

"Good, good," Grandpa Xin smiled with delight.

"Cheng Luiying," Xin Yan exclaimed, looking at her bewildered.

"Yanyan, Yi is already married to her," Grandma Xin exclaimed with excitement.

"What? Has Big Brother married? I thought he would die a lonely man," Xin Yan laughed.

"You!"

"Do you think because you are married, I can not beat you up? I will beat you up and your husband will have nothing to say," Xin Yi threatened.

"Do not worry Yan, I will take the beating for you," Li Qiang irritated his brother-in-law.

"Li Qiang!" Xin Yi roared, his veins popping out in rage.

"What have I done now?" Li Qiang appeared perplexed, and everyone laughed.

"Let us have lunch; your banter is cute, but your dear grandmother is hungry." Grandma Xin dramatically placed her hands in her belly, eliciting another burst of laughter.

They went to the dining room and ate lunch together.

After lunch, they all sat in the living room to digest their meals.

"Xin Yan, do you truly want your brother to join you in the company?" Grandpa Xin broached the topic.

All eyes turned to look at Xin Yan, who nodded calmly, "Big brother has a higher business IQ than me; it is only natural that he takes over."

Xin Yan had given the situation careful consideration. It was best if her brother was the company’s president; she would rather be in charge of field development (construction).

"Xin Yan, you have been managing the company very well over the last few years; I do not see the need for me to take over," Xin Yi protested.

Why would he take over his sister’s responsibilities? His grandfather had personally put her in the position, so why was she considering it?

"Have I truly taken good care of the company?" Grandpa, I know you are aware of what is going on in the company; would not it be better to have big brother as president?" Xin Yan inquired, her determination visible in her eyes.

"Xin Yi, listen to your sister," was all Grandpa Xin said. Xin Yi had no choice but to nod.

"I will think about it," was all he could manage to say.

Following the discussion, Grandpa Xin summoned Xin Yi and Li Qiang and invited them to play chess alongside him.

Xin Yi had a dark complexion. He honestly had no idea how to play chess. He could only suck it up.

"So, you are now my sister-in-law?" Xin Yan smiled as she spoke to Cheng Luiying.

They were currently in Grandma Xin’s personal quarters.

She had enticed them both by claiming she had a gift for Cheng Luiying.

"I suppose so," Cheng Luiying said, scratching her nose slightly. She had to admit that she was scared and nervous during her stay with Xin Yan.

"You do not need to be scared, Luiying; I am very happy you married my brother; believe me, he is a very nice person, though he can be grumpy at times," Xin Yan chuckled.

"I know," Cheng Luiying added, laughing.

"Finally found it," they heard Grandma Xin say loudly, and they turned to face her with a triumphant expression.
