The next morning, Xin Yan jumped from the bed in fright. She touched her cheeks as she sighed.
"It really wasn't a dream," she said loudly as she patted her cheeks. It really was good to be alive.
"Ah, right!" She pursed her lips slightly.
'I'm going to be getting married, and that too, to Li Qiang,' she looked up to the ceiling as she mused to herself.
'It's not that bad to be married to him, he can actually provide me with a sense of security and those foolish shareholders would be willing to lower their heads,' she had a bright look in her eyes as she thought about it.
'Well it's settled, I will get married to him, I will have so much to gain just by taking up his family's name,' she continued in a trance as she looked towards a particular spot.
"Yanyan, what are you daydreaming about? I have been in your room for a while but you didn't even hear me," she heard nanny Zhong's voice which jolted her out of her thoughts.
"I'm sorry nanny, I was just thinking about major issues," Xin Yan replied with a slight smile.
"Your grandparents called, they informed me of your marriage with the heir of the Lis," nanny Zhong folded her arms as she watched the little girl who had grown under her watch.
"Yes nanny, I think it's high time I got married, don't you think nanny?" She tilted her head as she gave a sweet smile.
"Hmm, you are right, it's even more good you are getting married heir of the Lis, I have met the young man, he's very nice, treat him nicely okay?" Nanny Zhong warned leaving Xin Yan speechless.
"What do you mean granny? Am you my nanny or his?" Xin Yan pouted her lips slightly.
"Those tricks won't work on me, freshen up, your grandfather had said you shouldn't go to work, the preparation for your wedding begins today," nanny Zhong informed before leaving her room.
Xin Yan pinched the space between her brows before leaving her bed for the bathroom.
When she was all readied, she went into the living room. But she didn't expect to meet Li Qiang there.
"Li Qiang, why are you here and that too, this early?" She had a doubtful look at the man who was calmly sipping a cup of coffee.
"I will have to take you to see my grandfather today," he informed her and she let out an hum.
"You are right, it's been long I visited grandpa Li, he always called me little Yan," Xin Yan had a reminiscing smile on her face as she thought about the nice grandpa which she was fortunate to meet when she was little.
"If you have met my grandfather, then why can't you recall me?" Li Qiang inquired of her as he looked at her with interest.
There was a smile dancing on his lips as he watched the girl turn awkward.
"Did you pretend to not know me?" He asked with a teasing smile.
Xin Yan's face turned red from being exposed. She calmly took seat as she watched him.
"In my defense, you have grown more handsome, how can I recall you when you have spent half of your life abroad?" She asks with a cheeky smile.
"So, Yanyan, am I handsome?" He asked as his eyes flashed.
"I didn't say that, did I?" Xin Yan asked as she covered her awkwardness with a cough.
'Oh my gosh, why is it so hot here?' She secretly pinched her thighs to get her brain in shape.
She didn't know why his words could get such a reaction from her.
"You did, are you denying your words now Yanyan?" Li Qiang questioned with a sly smile.
Xin Yan chuckled dryly. She didn't know that this president could have his way with words.
"You really have your way with words president Li, I would not have been expecting this from you," Xin Yan smiled wryly.
"It's said to not judge a book by its cover," Li Qiang naturally replied which stumped Xin Yan.
"President Li, care for breakfast?" Xin Yan asked. She didn't bother to bicker with him.
"Hmm, it's good, I haven't had breakfast yet, so it will be best to eat but a light one though, we will have breakfast at my grandfather's place," Li Qiang replied and she nodded in understanding.
They had a light breakfast and before Xin Yan could comprehend, she was in a car, on her way to the Li's old residence.
"Are you nervous?" Li Qiang asked the girl who was fiddling with her fingers.
"I'm not," she replied almost immediately.
"If you say so," he replied with a meaningful smile.
She scoffed before facing the window. Li Qiang chuckled. He could sense the little lady was throwing a tantrum.
The ride to the Li's old residence was quiet but it wasn't awkward. In fact, it was soothing to Xin Yan and she let down her guards as she began working on her phone. The atmosphere was harmonious.
"Xin Yan, we are here already," Li Qiang's voice jolted Xin Yan from her job.
She raised her head up as she looked at the mansion.
"Let's go, grandpa must be waiting for us," Li Qiang mumbled as he left the car. Xin Yan had already left the car before he could open it.
He was speechless. This little girl was very unromantic but he was going to change it, regardless.
"Come on, I don't know the way," Xin Yan urged.
He heaved a sigh before walking to his future wife. She was unromantic now, but he was going to change her.
"Let's head in," he stretched forth his hand toward her which caused her to raise her brows.
"Don't leave me hanging," he pressed. She rolled her eyes before she placed her hands into his.
She hissed slightly. She looked at him in surprise. Why was his hands so hot? Was he some sort of predator?
"Why are you staring at me that way? Do you wanna kiss me?" He asked with a teasing smile.
"Who wants to kiss you?" She scoffed with an arrogant tone as she tried to remove her hands from his but he held it tightly, not letting go of her.
She gave up immediately. His hold on her hand was really tight.
