As she took a seat beside him, he thrust a laptop into her hands.
"Here, you will see for yourself all the crimes the Jiang’s committed with using the company as a cover-up," Li Qiang explained to her as she read the contents which were displayed on the laptop.
She frowned as her eyes clenched tightly. She could not believe that her family’s company’s money was used to fund the crimes of the company.
"They will pay!" She muttered through clenched teeth.
"And that is what they will do, I have started my plans on them, I am slowly buying shares from each one of the shareholders and soon enough, you will be the owner of the company, you will be free to do whatever you want with the company," he beamed at her, and she smiled in return.
Ever since she had been reborn, he had helped her a lot. Though they had not dealt with major issues, the little things which he had dealt with on her behalf were enough to make her heart beat rapidly.
"Thank you," she suddenly interrupted him while he was explaining a few things to her.
"Uh?" He asked as he was slow to react.
"For everything which you have done for me, I know I can’t repay you....," Her words were interrupted when he placed his index finger on her lips.
"Do not say that, you do not need to repay me, you should know the reason for my actions," he spoke with a hoarse voice as he retrieved his finger from her lips, he would rather not do what he had in mind as he knew he would end up regretting.
What did he want to do? He wanted to kiss her, he wanted to kiss her real bad. Her lips were inviting, red, and plump. Her lips alone could cause him to think about things he ought not to.
Xin Yan frowned when she felt the warmth on her lips had disappeared. She looked at him, and she noticed he felt uncomfortable.
She scrutinized him properly and though she had always acknowledged him to be handsome, he was letting out male pheromones presently, and she had crazy thoughts, for the first time in history.
Not only that, but she wanted to pounce on him and leave her personal marks on him.
’What the hell are you thinking about Xin Yan?’ She questioned herself as she shook her head to get rid of the foolish thoughts she had in mind.
"Do you care to have something to drink?" Li Qiang asked, and he frowned immediately. Why did it feel like he had done the same thing previously?
His mind flashed with a memory, but it was too quick, and he was unable to make head or tail of what had flashed through his mind.
"What is wrong?" She asked and he shook his head negatively. He looked at her calm face, perhaps he was the only one who felt that way.
"Nothing, I just thought of something, but you do not need to worry as it is not necessary," he said to her, and she narrowed her eyes at him.
"Are you sure of what you are saying?" She asked, and he nodded helplessly, the earlier tense atmosphere dissipating immediately.
"I have a secret wine cellar and all my collections are present there, are you interested in having a taste?" He asked, and she nodded, her eyes lighting up immediately.
Xin Yan had always been a lover of alcoholic wine, but due to how strict her grandparents and brother were, she had gradually lost her thirst for wine.
But with Li Qiang here, she could revive her taste, and he had also made mention of collections. This means that the wines which will be present in the cellar would be much better than her brother’s.
She was eagerly awaiting it, and she could not help but salivate as she followed behind Li Qiang.
"Is the cellar present in your study?" She could not help but ask, after she had already regained her senses. She noticed that they did not step out of the study, instead they had gone through some sort of secret door.
"It is the safest place to keep such wines, I trust my people’s characters, but I can’t help but take preventive measures," he explained to get and she nodded.
But she was behind him, he could not see her nod, so she replied, "you are right, it is better to be safe than sorry."
Li Qiang stopped in his tracks as he turned to look at her, he was aware of the turmoil going through her mind, and he wished he could bear the burden for her, but it was not possible. He could only help her step away from it.
"You do not have to beat yourself up for what happened in your previous life, that is your previous life, this is your present life, you do not need to recall memories of the past, it is not worth it," he advised, and she nodded with a smile.
Even though he had no idea what past she must have recalled, he knew that she was now his responsibility.
"You always give the right advice, did you go to a monastery while you were still young?" Xin Yan joked with a big smile.
He chuckled. This was one of the ways she could show that she was fine.
"Let’s continue, shall we?" He gestured for her to walk beside him as they walked further deep through the corridor.
After what seemed to be like forever, Xin Yan noticed a door which had small light peeking through it. She was almost sure that behind the door laid various were different collections of wines which she was going to taste.
Li Qiang stopped to look at her, and he shook his head helplessly. He could see that she was already drooling. He then asked himself if he made the right decision by allowing her into his cellar.
"Is that your wine cellar?" She asked.
