Got out of bed, washed up, and Bella Green thought for a bit before taking another outfit out of the closet to change into.
Leaving the guest room, Bella knew Mason Bennett must be up by this time and went straight downstairs.
After walking around, she finally saw Mason in the yard and was about to approach when she paused.
Mason Bennett was on the phone with someone, looking relaxed and at ease. Something made him curve his lips into a faint smile.
Bella Green stopped in her tracks, staring blankly at the handsome and gentle side profile of the man in the sunlight.
Mason Bennett has never been an easygoing person, with a personality so cold that men find it hard to approach him. It seems that only in front of her could he lower himself and speak softly. To everyone else, he always wore a cold and distant expression.
Even in front of Grandma Jiang, he rarely smiled.
She had seen Mason before, only she had never seen him show this kind of expression while talking to someone else.
Catching sight of a figure out of the corner of his eye, Mason turned his head to see the pink-cheeked youth standing not far away, eyes dazed and seemingly lost in thought.
Mason’s lips moved slightly, saying something else, then hung up and walked over.
"I just came to tell you that I’m going back." As the man approached step by step, Bella Green quickly said something, her tone slightly higher, not knowing what she was trying to conceal.
Mason paused, then nodded: "I’ll have Elliot Morris come over to take you back."
Hearing this, Bella felt a strange blockage in her heart and smiled, asking, "You’re not taking me back?"
She didn’t even know why she asked that question. As soon as she realized, the words had already come out.
"I’m just..." joking.
"I have something to do later, Elliot is on his way."
Both spoke at the same time, and Bella ended up swallowing the words back.
In the car, Bella Green looked out at the scenery, lost in thought.
In the front, while driving, Elliot Morris kept chattering away, rambling on about trying to explain the previous misunderstanding.
However, Bella didn’t take the matter to heart at all.
"Elliot," Bella suddenly spoke sweetly.
Upon hearing this, Elliot’s face bloomed into a smile, "Yes, Bella, what can I do for you?"
"Does Mason have any good friends?"
This question slightly confused Elliot, but he still answered truthfully, listing Mason’s well-formed friendships one by one.
Bella frowned. She knew these people quite well, but...
"No, I mean, a very special friend."
Elliot was stunned for a moment, then gave Bella Green an odd look via the rearview mirror.
"A very special one? That would be you, Bella."
Bella was taken aback. Was she special?
"I’ve never seen the boss be so good to anyone. Even when Victor was in the country, the boss never indulged him so much." Elliot replied truthfully.
Suddenly, feeling that "indulged" wasn’t the right word, he continued with a laugh, "The boss is really good to you."
Hearing Elliot’s words, Bella raised an eyebrow slightly, and her lips curled up slowly.
A red light, and the car came to a gradual stop at the intersection. On the side wall of the shopping mall by the road, a massive LED screen was broadcasting the news of actress Fiona Grantham’s imminent return.
Bella Green stared at the beautiful, striking face on the screen, her brows slightly furrowed.
