The man’s brow furrowed instinctively, his gaze following that slender figure.
Fiona Grantham’s smile was long gone, the elegant curve of her lips seemed rather forced now.
She also turned to look at the back of the young man in red, her eyes growing deep.
"Bella’s temper seems a bit troublesome," she suddenly said with a laugh.
Mason Bennett heard this, withdrew his gaze, and looked at the beautiful and elegant woman beside him.
"It’s good for a boy to have a bit of temper."
Fiona Grantham’s eyes flickered, continuing: "Bella is really pretty, just like a girl."
As soon as she finished speaking, she turned to examine the man’s expression.
Upon hearing this, Mason Bennett’s brows moved slightly, subtly showing displeasure.
"He’s young, hasn’t completely grown up yet."
His tone seemed to show he wasn’t too pleased with Fiona Grantham’s description.
Fiona Grantham curved her lips and laughed: "True enough."
Mason Bennett looked at Bella Green in the distance, talking to the director, then glanced at the small stool nearby, standing coldly by a large tree, watching Bella Green begin to act.
Fiona Grantham also walked over.
"Victor and I are back, but you haven’t welcomed us—you seemed busy, yet you find time to come here." Fiona Grantham’s tone was gentle, slightly laced with helplessness and disappointment.
Hearing this, Mason Bennett withdrew his gaze and looked at the woman beside him.
"Something came up last minute yesterday, sorry."
Fiona Grantham laughed helplessly, shaking her head: "You still remember, yesterday you were supposed to pick me up."
Seeing his gaze shift once more to the other person, Fiona Grantham spoke urgently.
"Do you still remember what you told me back then?" The woman’s eyes were full of hopeful expectation.
Looking at the increasingly mature and beautiful face before him, Mason Bennett’s eyes darkened slightly.
"Fiona, the words from back then were just a joke; both of us knew that."
Fiona Grantham let out a bitter laugh, the pain in her eyes obvious: "But what if I hadn’t..."
"Fiona." Mason Bennett’s voice turned cold, and his eyes darkened several shades.
"I’ve kept my promise, and you know very well the reason you have the right to stand here and talk to me now."
His words were merciless, causing Fiona Grantham’s face to turn pale instantly, standing there deeply affected.
The woman’s slender figure seemed to sway, as if a gust of wind would blow her away.
She never expected that she always thought she had integrated into his world, but in reality, she was always left out.
She probably wouldn’t even have the chance to get close to him, would she?
Bella Green, who was performing a scene with Louis Lawrence, glanced meaningfully towards the two under the big tree in the distance.
Seeing them speaking so intimately at close range, her eyes filled with resentment, almost glaring.
"Bella Green, are you out of your mind? Do you have a vendetta against the buns? You’re eating as if you’re on a rampage, are you planning to ascend?"
Bryce Xavier’s loud voice suddenly echoed, pulling Bella Green’s thoughts back.
Bella Green looked at the half-eaten large bun in her hand, dazed.
Beside her, Louis Lawrence lounged lazily in his chair, watching her with an amused smile.
Bella Green blushed, coughed lightly.
"Oh, I didn’t have breakfast this morning, so I was a bit hungry." As she spoke, she shoved the remaining bun into her mouth.
"The prop buns were bought from a breakfast stand outside; they’re one-fifty each. Later, pay back the money for the extra buns you ate."
Bella Green almost choked on the bun, looking up with a face full of resentment at Bryce Xavier.
"Director Bryce, even one-fifty, you still want it? Can you be less stingy?"
"A bun costs one-fifty. If everyone comes to mooch buns like you, I might as well turn our crew into a cafeteria!"
