Bella Green, who was leisurely watching the drama unfold from the sidelines, heard this and her eyes flickered slightly. She then glanced at Daniel Green with a mischievous smile on her lips.
Ivy Willis causing a ruckus at the Green Family wouldn’t necessarily have Daniel defending her, but when it involved Anna Green, things were different.
Suddenly, Bella felt a bit uninterested and prepared to turn and leave.
Then she heard Daniel’s increasingly irritated voice.
"You’re the one who’s insane. She’s my sister. If I don’t help her, should I help you?"
Bella hadn’t even moved a step before she stopped again, giving the boy standing in her way an odd look.
"Haha, Daniel Green, did I hear you right? You called her sister?" Ivy sarcastically looked at Daniel. "Back when you complained to me about how annoying and bothersome she was, you never called her sister then."
This merciless revelation made a flash of guilt and panic pass quickly through Daniel’s eyes. He hurriedly turned to look at Bella.
"No, it’s not like that, I just..." The boy rushed to explain.
All Bella did was give a slight smile, eyebrows arching, as she uttered something that nearly left him speechless.
"It’s fine, after all, it’s not like you didn’t say those things right in front of me too."
Daniel was at a loss for words at this comeback, his face turning bright red yet unable to argue back.
Ivy, seeing this, burst out laughing: "Look at yourself, you’re just a big fool now. They don’t appreciate it, yet you’re acting all righteous here!"
"It’s none of your business, get out of my house immediately. If I see you bullying Bella Green again, you’d better watch out." The boy growled fiercely.
Caelum Willis covered his face. It took him a while to get back on his feet, his nose bleeding from being hit by the basketball, now stuffed with two wads of tissue, looking both pathetic and ridiculous.
"Daniel, do you even know what she did, for you to lay hands on your own uncle ?" Caelum, having been humiliated by two kids in succession, couldn’t hold back his fury.
"No, I don’t," Daniel retorted, stubbornly: "Anyway, you guys just love giving her a hard time for no reason. Bella Green wouldn’t speak up for Ivy Willis. Just leave." With that, he turned and pulled Bella upstairs.
Being pulled along by the boy, Bella wore a peculiar expression.
"Uh, you might want to slow down." Having been dragged up to the top floor, she couldn’t help but speak up.
Daniel stopped in his tracks, turning around to look at her inquiringly.
Bella sized him up seriously for a few moments, then asked: "Do you really trust me that much?"
Daniel paused slightly, appearing somewhat confused by her question: "The internet clearly stated that it was she who drugged Kyle Hughes, causing that situation. How could it possibly have anything to do with you?"
She realized that this kid was truly a dimwit—dumber than Victor Bennett even.
"So, you believe what’s said online is true?"

Bella was utterly speechless: "Don’t you have any judgment of your own? Don’t you know that at least ten of those online stories are fabricated? Didn’t they previously claim I was riding on Fiona Grantham’s popularity? Did you believe that too?"
Daniel paused, frowned, and fell silent, not knowing what he was pondering over. After a while, he tentatively spoke up.
"Then, this matter with Ivy Willis, does it really have something to do with you?"
Hearing this, Bella smiled and suddenly leaned close to him, her eyes glinting mischievously: "Of course it does!"
She expected Daniel to get all jumpy and scold her, but to her surprise, the boy contemplated for a moment and then earnestly said.
"Didn’t Ivy Willis do a lot of bad things to you before? Is that why you did this?"
Bella faltered, dazed by his astonishing line of thought, then saw him angrily turning around to head downstairs.
"I’m going to confront her!"
