Then he looked at Fiona Grantham and explained.
"I forgot to mention when I called earlier, I’m with Joanna."
"This girl is so careless, I don’t feel comfortable letting her go back by herself. I know you guys had a misunderstanding before, but it’s just a meal together, Phoebe..."
His words almost made Fiona unable to hold back her laughter.
Why would he be uneasy about Joanna, such a grown person, going home by herself?
And she only said one sentence, how did it make her seem so aggressive, as if she couldn’t tolerate others?
"Victor, I didn’t mean it that way, I didn’t intend to send Joanna away, she misunderstood me."
Fiona looked helpless, feeling wrongly accused, and hurriedly explained.

"Phoebe, have a seat. I’ve ordered your favorite greens and tofu."
Victor Bennett cheerfully invited Fiona, while handing over the greens and tofu in front of him to Fiona.
Looking at the dishes in front of her, Fiona gave an awkward smile.
As an actress, she always ate very lightly to maintain her figure, almost living on boiled vegetables at home unless socializing outside.
But that didn’t mean she liked cabbage tofu...
"Victor is always so considerate, remembering what I like to eat."
Fiona said with a smile, looking affectionate, as she picked up her chopsticks, about to dip into the dish, but her smile froze again.
Looking at the hotpot soup covered in a layer of red oil, she didn’t know whether to put the food in or take it back out.
She didn’t eat spicy food...
"Phoebe, why aren’t you eating? It’s really good."
Victor, while eating and feeling the heat, looked at Fiona puzzled.
Fiona looked at the soup base in front of her, hesitated for a moment, but still forced herself to put the food in.
"It’s a bit hot." She smiled lightly.
Victor acknowledged her, then went back to picking up meat.
Instinctively, he glanced at Joanna, who sat silently with her head down, and naturally placed a chopstick of meat into her bowl.
Joanna might be small, but her appetite was large, not refusing anything, and soon her plate was empty.
Victor stacked the empty dishes in front of her together, then moved the meat and vegetables from Fiona’s direction over to Joanna’s.
Joanna looked at the meat in front of her, then at the pile of greens in front of Fiona, and made a sound of surprise.
"Isn’t Fiona going to eat?"
"Do you think everyone eats like you? Like a pig. Phoebe prefers eating light."
Victor said disdainfully.
Watching their interaction, Fiona tightened her grip on the chopsticks, noticing there wasn’t a single meat dish in front of her.
If she didn’t know Victor’s character well, she might have thought he was doing it on purpose!
"Yes, Victor knows me best." Fiona tried her best to smile, speaking warmly.
Fiona watched as Victor ate happily, her brow slightly furrowed. She hadn’t come to find Victor today just for a meal.
"Victor, actually I came to you today because I need a favor."
Fiona put down her chopsticks, planning to get straight to the point.
Seeing Victor look at her, Fiona was about to continue speaking, when Joanna suddenly yelled.
"Victor, the meatball isn’t cooked!"
