Reborn as a Devouring Dragon with a System Chapter 143

Drakion could be seen lying on the bed, though it seemed he was asleep. Quin, Kaidros, Ski, Elemarion, and the Five Element Dragon were surrounding him.

Suddenly, they saw him taking deep breaths and sweating profusely, as if he were in danger. This made them frown.

"Master, what’s going on with him?" Quin asked the Five Element Dragon.

"I have no idea, Quin. It was the Progenitor Dragons who gave me this horn—and it was able to carry my soul for ages without a single trace of damage. They only asked me to pinpoint the horn to him," the Five Element Dragon said.

When they all heard this, they frowned. Only the Progenitor Dragons and Drakion knew what he was truly going through.

At that moment, Mia entered the room and was surprised to find it devoid of its usual cheer. Instead, a solemn aura gripped the space. She was confused as she asked what was happening. Kaidros briefed her, and she too now understood the reason behind the heavy silence.

She looked at Drakion—his body drenched in sweat, his face twisted in pain—as tears streamed from his eyes.

After unknown hours of waiting, Drakion’s eyes finally snapped open. When Kaidros saw this, he was overjoyed and rushed toward Drakion to help him.

"Move back!" the Five Element Dragon roared, dragging Kaidros back—but he was a moment too late. By the time he pulled Kaidros toward him, the right arm that Kaidros had stretched forward had vanished—ripped off—blood oozing from the torn stump.

Everyone was stunned as they turned toward Drakion, who now stood before them, his right palm stained with blood. They knew instantly—it was Kaidros’s blood.

But what shook them even more was that Drakion hadn’t moved at all.

His face was still lowered, shadowed. Then he raised it.

The barrier placed around the room fractured as a massive killing intent descended upon Bestial Town. Everyone—including Kaidros, Mia, and Ski—was forced to their knees under the crushing pressure.

Elemarion was barely standing under the protection of the Five Element Dragon and Quin, who were fighting to resist it—but even then, Elemarion was drenched in sweat.

The whole town spiraled into chaos. Mortals couldn’t bear the weight; some collapsed, some trembled on the edge of death. When the Five Element Dragon, Quin, and Elemarion looked at Drakion again, their eyes widened in horror.

His eyes were golden—yet within each gleamed a crimson dot. And as they stared into that dot, a terrifying pressure poured over them, sending shivers crawling down their spines.

Most beings could only reach the level of an Ocean of Blood with their killing intent... but this—this was a Universe of Blood.

And only a fraction of it had been revealed.

"Elemarion, Quin! Channel your power into me!" the Five Element Dragon roared, and they didn’t hesitate.

The Five Element Dragon’s body began to glow as he forged a new barrier around the room—vastly stronger than before. With Quin and Elemarion’s Originat aligned with his own, the barrier was far more formidable than he expected.

Outside, the townspeople were stunned. The pressure vanished—but the damage had been done. All mortals had been knocked unconscious. Some were foaming at the mouth.

It felt like doomsday had arrived.

An old man standing inside his tattered shop frowned. He alone had it easier—he hadn’t knelt, but fought to resist the pressure.

Still, he searched for the source of the anomaly. Because to possess such killing intent... the owner must have slaughtered countless beings.

But he saw nothing. Only silence. And then—

A backlash hit him hard, sending him crashing to the ground. And with that pain came a terrifying clarity:

The enemy was beyond him.

Meanwhile, in the far distance, a young man with reddish-white and blackish-blue eyes hovered high above the clouds, his features veiled in shadow. He suddenly turned, a flicker of confusion flashing through his gaze.

"Such massive killing intent... what’s that?" he muttered, unsettled. But despite his uncertainty, he moved—drawn by instinct—to investigate the source of that overwhelming aura.

Back at the inn, the Five Element Dragon’s expression had grown solemn as his gaze fell on Drakion, now in his child form.

What he felt radiating from the boy was not just power—it was a draconic aura that surpassed anything within his ancient memory.

He swiftly covered Kaidros, Ski, and Mia in a protective veil of his own aura, easing the crushing pressure on them. He also restored Kaidros’s grievous wounds, returning his arm to its former state.

Drakion’s gaze swept over the room until it landed on the Five Element Dragon. Quin noticed this shift and instinctively stepped forward, placing himself between his master and the boy.

Now, Drakion’s attention locked onto Quin.

They heard the soft tap of Drakion’s feet touching the ground.

In the same breath, he vanished from where he stood.

Quin had been tracking him closely, but even he was caught off guard by the sudden disappearance. Before he could react, a surge of energy—Drakion’s aura—flared behind him like a silent storm.

As a seasoned warrior, one of the mightiest Dragonoids, Quin’s battle instincts surged to life, sharp and primal. Though his strength was restricted—limited to the level of an Origin Emperor due to his summoned form—his instincts remained honed, undulled by constraint.

He spun, unleashing a punch toward the point where Drakion’s presence had erupted—his fist tearing through the air with explosive velocity.

The roar of the Five Element Dragon thundered through the room—too late.

In that instant, Quin realized his strike had veered off-course. His fist met nothing but air.

Before he could recover—before his mind could register the danger—something sharp plunged into his chest.

—and saw a small fist lodged deep in his heart.
