Luo Qiao received the call, asked for leave from Professor Wilson, and left school to hail a cab home directly.
Her face was radiant with a smile, finally she could meet openly.

Lu Yichen put the things into the kitchen and then pulled her into the living room.
Yanyan and Yueyue ran over: “Mom, are we having seafood tonight?”
Luo Qiao tapped both of their little noses: “Tonight, we’re having a barbecue in the yard, and we’ve invited Michael’s family and Olivia’s family.”
Yanyan chuckled, “Yes, it’ll be more fun to have a barbecue with everyone.”
Rong Daniang had the meal ready: “Yichen, you eat first.”
Then she turned to Luo Qiao, “Qiaoqiao, would you like to eat something?”
Luo Qiao waved her hand: “I’m not hungry; the senior in the lab brought quite a lot of fruit today, I ate a bit too much.”
Lu Yichen settled her on the sofa, staring at her belly for a long while: “Qiaoqiao, this belly looks even bigger than when you were pregnant with Yanyan and Yueyue.”
Luo Qiao started laughing: “A few days ago, I went for a prenatal check-up and had an ultrasound; the doctor said it’s not twins, it’s triplets.”
Lu Yichen upon hearing this exclaimed, “What, triplets? Did the doctor mention if it will affect your health? After all, with three, the physical burden is greater.”
Rong Daniang hearing this also asked, “Yes, what did the doctor say?”
Luo Qiao, not wanting to worry everyone, didn’t beat around the bush, “The doctor said the current situation is very good, praised my physical condition as well, and advised maintaining a balanced diet and insisting on moderate daily exercise. So, you all don’t need to worry; I even get some walking done while collecting data in the lab.”
Lu Yichen looked at Luo Qiao’s belly with some concern: “The lab gave us a week’s time, I really can’t feel at ease.”
Luo Qiao pushed him slightly, “Let’s eat first, we can talk after the meal.”
Yueyue followed and asked, “Mom, triplets, does that mean there are three babies in your belly?”
Luo Qiao nodded, “Yes, do you like that idea?”
Yueyue placed her hand on her mother’s belly: “When the brothers are born, will mom still like Yueyue and sister?”
Luo Qiao, knowing the children wouldn’t ask this without reason, pulled her into a hug: “Of course, I would still love you. You and your sister are the treasures I carried for ten months before giving birth, has someone been saying something to you?”
Yueyue lay in her mother’s embrace: “A few days ago, we called the housekeeper, someone on the phone said the housekeeper wasn’t home, they also said that Yanyan and I are just two girls, if there were a brother to look after the house, they wondered if we would still be cherished.”
Luo Qiao pulled Yanyan, who was standing to the side watching, into her arms as well: “No matter now or in the future, you both are your father and mother’s treasures. Even when your brothers are born, you will still be the most loved by your father and mother. When the brothers are older, they will protect and cherish you too. Do you understand?”

After calming the two children for a while, she then said, “Go and play with Michael, and invite their family over for the barbecue tonight.”

Luo Qiao stroked her daughters’ hair: “Dad is not leaving today. Later, he needs to help prepare the food for tonight’s barbecue. You can bring Michael back to our house to play.”
The two children cheered, Yanyan excitedly said, “Okay, we’ll bring Michael back to play later.”
After speaking, Yanyan called out to Lu Yichen, “Dad, we are going to find Michael and will be back soon.”
Lu Yichen nodded in their direction, “Walk under the tree shades; it’s still a bit hot now.”
The children rushed out, and Dou Dou instinctively followed—now Dou Dou acted like the children’s shadow, following them everywhere.
Lu Yichen had just finished eating. Rong Daniang took away the dishes and utensils and conveniently called her husband away to give the young couple some privacy to talk.
After all, Yichen had mentioned earlier that they only had a week off before they had to return to the country.
Luo Qiao asked, “Any news about Alia?”
“She’s in Washington. Duanmu has finalized the divorce with her and divided quite a portion of her property with her, so you don’t need to feel guilty.”
“And those listening devices from Duanmu’s household, how were they dealt with?”

“Do you think Duanmu ever suspected me?”

He didn’t have time to investigate the manor further. Mainly because you performed your task well. In half a month, the housekeepers didn’t notice a single listening device; if Duanmu knew, he probably would be furious.”

So whatever you do, you should have principles and a bottom line. Coveting ill-gained wealth probably will leave you with no life to spend it.”
