Reborn as a Superpower Girl in the 80s Chapter 410

Chapter 410: Chapter 410 Genuine Gratitude Chapter 410: Chapter 410 Genuine Gratitude Half an hour later, Luo Qiao emerged from the house, “She’s awake now, you can go in. Once the medicine is bought, start brewing it straightaway, and make sure she doesn’t catch a cold these next few days.”

No sooner had he finished speaking than Qin Muyang hurried back, heading straight to Yang Jiancheng upon entering and said, “Professor Yang, I’ve managed to get all the other herbs, but the ginseng slices are missing. Can we do without it for today? I’ll look for them elsewhere tomorrow.”

Yang Jiancheng turned to look at Luo Qiao upon hearing this. Luo Qiao understood what her master was implying, but with so many neighbors around, if she suggested they use that root of ginseng, it probably wouldn’t be safe. Worse still, they might offend someone.

So, before her master could speak, she said, “I have some ginseng beard in my bag that you can use for now. Tomorrow, you can try finding it somewhere else.”

Qin Muyang replied gratefully, “Thank you so much. I will pay you back as soon as I can.”

Knowing what Luo Qiao meant, Yang Jiancheng said, “Then follow me to get it. Make sure you brew the medicine quickly for your sister to drink.”

Back at the Yang’s, Luo Qiao took out a paper package from her cross-body bag. Inside were over a dozen ginseng beards, each clearly old, having been cut from the body of mature ginseng roots.”

These ginseng beards had been previously prepared by Luo Qiao. Each time her grandmother cooked meals or made soup, she would throw in one or two, all to silently enrich her family’s health.

Luo Qiao handed over all the beards in the paper package to Qin Muyang, “Don’t use too many at a time – two will suffice. Too much can be over-nourishing, and with her weak constitution, she wouldn’t be able to withstand it.”

After thanking her profusely several times, Qin Muyang left with the paper package.

By this time, the dishes were nearly ready in the kitchen. The two returned, washed their hands, and sat down to eat. Luo Qiao asked, “Is the Qin family in very bad shape? Logically, even though that girl was premature, with proper care, her condition shouldn’t be so dire. It’s mainly psychological.”

While serving the dishes, Feng Shumin explained, “Previously, the Qin family’s situation was decent, but then the Qin family’s matriarch—Qin Muyang’s grandmother—fell ill, accumulating a lot of debt. Not too many years after that, the eldest son of the Qin family got married.

We aren’t too clear about what happened in the intervening years, but last year, Qin Muyang’s father also met with an accident and passed away. Now, only Qin Muyang and his elder brother, Qin Muli, work to support the entire family.

Things were somewhat better when Qin Muyang’s father was around, but now Qin Muli’s wife has been wanting to split the household for a while, often snapping at her sister-in-law. It probably has something to do with that.”

The three carried the dishes to the table, and Luo Qiao, helping with the drinks, said, “This is off the cuff, but I want to take this moment to thank my master and mistress for all the years of instruction and care. I’ll drink to that; you can join in as you wish.”

With that, she tilted her head back and drank the contents of her cup in one go, drinking so eagerly she coughed lightly.

Feng Shumin hurriedly interjected, “Eat something quickly to settle down. Why are you drinking so fiercely? No need to stand on ceremony with your master and mistress.”

Luo Qiao smiled, “I truly appreciate everything you’ve done for me. If it weren’t for you both, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

Tears welled in her eyes as she finished speaking. Luo Qiao had absorbed all of the original owner’s memories, so she was acutely aware of the hardships endured on the farm over the years and would never forget their kindness.

After dinner, Yang Jiancheng shared the news that he and his wife had been invited back to teach at the school.

Luo Qiao responded, “As long as you’re happy, just be careful not to overexert. It’s good to keep busy, distracts from boredom.”

Thinking of the medical practitioner’s license, Luo Qiao said, “Master, I want to apply for a medical practitioner’s license. Do you know where I should go for that?”

Yang Jiancheng replied, “Don’t worry about that; just show up for the exam before you leave. Review those medical concepts in the next few days when you’re free, and I’ll let you know when.”

Luo Qiao laughed, Then thank you, master.”

After cleaning up, Luo Qiao suggested, “There’s nothing urgent now, so today I’ll give a massage to master and mistress as a New Year’s gift.”

Initially reluctant, the couple agreed only after Luo Qiao’s persistent insistence. They strolled around the yard for five or six laps, then came back inside to wash up and change into their pajamas.

Luo Qiao started with her mistress, combing through her meridians with her Special Ability and then massaging her from head to toe. Feng Shumin was so relaxed that she almost fell asleep lying down.

Next, Luo Qiao did the same for her master. Yang Jiancheng, being a doctor and having trained Luo Qiao himself, sensed something unusual about his body and realized that his little apprentice must have had some extraordinary encounter.

Now, he felt warmth throughout his body, a sensation that ordinary massages couldn’t give. He could feel a stream of energy continuously moving through his meridians, not something an average person could achieve.

However, he didn’t ask for details. After the session, feeling an unprecedented lightness, he only cautioned, “Take good care of yourself.”

Luo Qiao knew she couldn’t keep her Special Ability a secret from her medically-savvy master and nodded, “Don’t worry, master. I understand.”

Standing up, she said, “You should sleep early. I’ll head off now.”
