After letting her go, he held her face and kissed her forehead, then started the car, reached into the back seat, and grabbed a piece of chocolate cake, “I was just passing by, so I brought you a piece.”
Luo Qiao’s face was all smiles, “Thank you, Brother Chen.”
While eating, Luo Qiao asked, “There should be guests at home today, shouldn’t you be there helping to entertain them instead of coming to pick me up?”
Lu Yichen saw there were chocolate crumbs at the corner of Luo Qiao’s mouth and took out a handkerchief from his pocket, “Wipe the corner of your mouth.”
After she cleaned up, he explained, “Grandpa asked me to run an errand, and I figured you’d be getting out about now, so I took a detour to pick you up.”
Luo Qiao pouted and muttered softly, “He clearly came specifically to pick me up, but he’s still pretending.”
Lu Yichen, hearing the words of his little woman, burst into laughter, “You know it, so why ask?”

When the two returned to the compound, there indeed were many guests at home; many came from other families in the compound to add to Lu Yiting’s dowry and send their blessings.

Lu Yiting looked towards the door with a smile, “Stone and Taifeng took them out to play in the compound.”
Luo Qiao chatted a bit more then went out to find the kids. It had been over twenty days since she’d seen them, she really missed the children.
When she found them in the compound, Luo Qiao ran towards the two children, “Yanyan, Yueyue.”
Stone looked at his two nieces, “Look, who’s calling you?”
Unexpectedly, both children paused, then cried out in unison, “Mom, Mom, miss Mom.”
Luo Qiao had never been away from her children for so long, and hearing their words, she teared up.
She gathered both children into her arms, “Mom missed you too, so much, so much.”
She originally planned to take a break tomorrow and the day after, but thinking of the children’s upcoming first birthday in a few days, she decided to wait and take the day off on their birthday to spend it with them.
On her way back, she encountered many people from the compound. Since she didn’t often visit, she wasn’t very familiar with many of them except those she had met at their wedding banquet. Luo Qiao greeted each with a polite nod and smile.
Some people in the yard began whispering, “Who is that?”
