Aboard the battleship, Jia Yan had some doubts about his conversation with Rong Bo.
It was about the great existence that Rong Bo repeatedly mentioned, a topic Jia Yan had suspected when he encountered the top ten Strong Ones. Now, thinking back, these beings seemed to have some reservations when battling him.
And Rong Bo was the same, appearing as if a giant pair of hands shrouded him, Jia Yan, in a shadow...
"Strange, really strange..." Jia Yan looked at his body with some trepidation. Even though his memory contained no knowledge of that great existence, his body seemed to remember the feeling of that entity’s power.
He faintly heard some voices that seemed audible yet were not.
But the voices were ethereal, as if heard, yet perhaps just an illusion.
"Forget it." Jia Yan thought for a moment, then set aside this topic and focused on the information he had received.
"Rong Bo’s identity, he too is supposedly a space mercenary, an organization so powerful that even top-ranking Starry Sky Level Experts join it, showing it’s no ordinary force!"
Jia Yan was all too familiar with the Universe Mercenary Organization, storied to be widespread in the Desolate Star System. They were everywhere, from Tianlong Star when he first came to this starfield, to the central area of the Desolate Star System, even Tian Wu, the leader of the top ten Strong Ones, was one of the space mercenaries.
Now hearing that Rong Bo was also a space mercenary gave Jia Yan a sense of shock.
Could the organization’s influence really be so vast?
"The Universe Mercenary Organization, an immensely huge behemoth, definitely has Stellar Level Experts in place, and it’s one of the few forces in this vast area confirmed to have Stellar Level Experts. No wonder its reach is so wide!"
There were bizarre scenes in the sky, with ships like streaks of lightning continuously flying through.
This was a convoy apparently navigating through distorted space!
Having evaded the pursuing Rong Bo’s Giant Mosquito Fleet, they finally had a chance to breathe.
Though the pursuers could appear at any time, even if caught up here, it’s unlikely the other side would dare to attack.
The entire starry sky was a product of the space distortion, a phenomenon rarely seen outside the Chaos Starfield but rather common within it, and also the true reason for its danger.
When the Chaos Starfield was first discovered, a formidable fleet under the Luozi Empire, believing in their might to conquer this opportunity-filled area, entered only to suffer unbearable losses instead of finding great wealth, eventually being divided up by other powers after their departure. The distorted space was the primary cause of their downfall!
Despite the ability of the Giant Mosquito Fleet to move safely now, danger could occur at any time.
"Lord Jia Yan, we’ve detected fleet movements behind us, it’s confirmed to be Rong Bo’s fleet!"
While Jia Yan was catching up on news about the Chaos Starfield, a communication request from Kama came.
"See where they’re headed. I believe they know this starry sky quite well, and as long as we follow their trajectory, we’ll likely be safe," Jia Yan said indifferently.
"Okay, it’s difficult for them to launch an attack from here, we’re not in much danger, so let’s just watch for a bit!"
After Kama agreed and cut the communication, the fleet behind, having spotted the Giant Mosquito Fleet, didn’t immediately launch an attack. From Jia Yan’s perspective, the other’s flight pattern was extremely peculiar; it seemed a straightforward flight, but occasionally it appeared as if they turned or even flew backwards, as if heading in the opposite direction.
