Staff moved quickly to set up the equipment before silently climbing to a high point, zooming in the lens, and starting the live broadcast.
"Greetings, viewers from the Fifth City, and all residents of Grey-Yellow Star, welcome to the Fifth City Battlefield Broadcast!"
In no time at all, the broadcast began again, carried by the clear and pleasant voice of the female reporter.
"Lord, it seems there are some little bugs over there. Do we need to take care of them?"
In the sky, several colossal life forms were floating serenely.
One of them was a Stone Giant covered with numerous huge stones. Although this monster was not good at flying, it could still catch up with other powerful creatures at an average speed.
He looked towards the nearby forest and quietly asked.
His query was directed at a super flying monster larger than thirty meters. Its wings spread wide, making it even more massive, nearly blocking out the light from the sky; its size was indeed terrifying.
As the Stone Giant ’Long Wu’ posed the question, the flying monster named Compound Eyes glanced briefly at the forest before shaking his head nonchalantly, "No need, our operation is quite large, we can’t hide it from those forces. We don’t need to bother with these insignificant creatures."
"Yes!" The Stone Giant promptly echoed and withdrew.
This Stone Giant was once known as ’Long Wu,’ the fifth strongest in the Golden Desert. After he was assured by Jia Yan, the ’sell-hard for five days’, he was no longer unwilling to work for Earth City. He had always been independent, a monster not connected to any force. So, when he had to choose between saving his life and submitting to Earth City, he chose the latter.
The enormous flying monster was none other than Jia Yan. At his side, were fifteen different kinds of powerful creatures, each one as exceptional as the top twenty creatures of the Golden Desert. However, they were not genuinely loyal to Earth City. That’s why they needed Mosquito, an existence more robust than them, to personally decompress them!
The reason there were only fifteen creatures here now, compared to seventeen previously, was that when they heard that the Earth Army led by the Giant Mosquito was planning to attack the Fifth City, two creatures refused outright and attempted to flee!
Jia Yan’s speed, however, was incredible. Neither monster managed to escape a twenty-kilometer radius before they were both killed by the Giant Mosquito’s sting!
The total time it took to kill both monsters didn’t exceed two seconds!
Fast! Unbelievably fast!
This show of power from Giant Mosquito made all the creatures around him refrain from any further comment, accepting his orders directly.
In the Earth City convoy, a great many battle vehicles were present. Most shockingly, the number visible now was just a portion of what Earth’s Army had deployed. There were countless various battle vehicles and a wide assortment of weapons in the back, all brought along for this operation.
Clack, clack, clack, clack, clack...
Inside one of the vehicles, a little girl with rabbit ears was holding an old, alien-made pistol. It was quite an ancient weapon that her father had left her for protection. It was better than nothing.
"Kaga, do you think we’re going to die this time?" Lulu asked as she clutched the pistol, uncertain if it even had the energy to fire. When she checked before, there was only a tiny bit of energy liquid left at the bottom.
Next to Lulu was the young boy, Kaga. He was holding a long spear with a very sharp tip. It looked terrifying. The end had a red arc constantly sparking, revealing it to be a high-tech weapon.
This was Kaga’s treasure, which he had found after the previous attack on Earth City. He didn’t know which Strong One it belonged to. This was his first time using it.
"Don’t worry, Lady Daphne said she wouldn’t let us children go into battle." Kaga replied but his unconsciously clutching at a cleaning cloth to polish the spear betrayed his inner unrest.
These two children, both of whom had experienced much in the past, knew that training child soldiers was a common practice among the smaller powers in the Gold Desert. Also, children of some unique life forms were large and powerful. That’s why child soldiers were prevalent.
However, they had no idea if Earth City would follow suit. Why else would Miss Daphne have brought all these children with her to the battle group?
"Kaga, I want to sing," Lulu piped up suddenly.
"You’re nuts!" Kaga snapped back at her. He couldn’t understand why this rabbit-eared little girl, who had been with him all the time, had grown so fond of singing after their previous remembrance of the deceased.
Nevertheless, Lulu didn’t care. She started to sing her tune!
It was a lullaby sung in a youthful voice. It was soothing to the soul.
