Reborn As Divine Doctor to Rule the World Chapter 123

Chapter 123: Chapter 124 The Fish Might Not Die, but the Net Will Definitely Break

Chu Yu stepped forward and grabbed her wrist, “Do you really have no feelings left for me, when you used to be willing to do anything just for one look from me?”

“That’s what the Marquis also said, but that was the past. Moreover, the things I painstakingly made for you in the end were all burned by your hands. You even told me not to do such demeaning acts that disgusted you!”

Shao He thought of the insults the original host had suffered, and now he had the audacity to bring up those matters—it was shameless!

Shao He let out a shout to calm down and shook off his hand. She did not want to lash out at Chu Yu just yet.

But of all things, Chu Yu should not have trampled on the original host’s dignity—it infuriated her to no end!

Seeing her anger, Chu Yu explained, “You’re so angry, could it be because you’re jealous about my engagement?”

Shao He could no longer restrain herself and yelled, “We have already severed ties, what makes you think I would be upset about your engagement? Marquis, don’t flatter yourself too much.”

Being rejected by her in such a manner, Chu Yu’s pride was hurt, and after being stunned for a long time, he finally said, “You were not before. The you from before was gentle and soft. But look at you now, like a fishwife from the streets!”

“Yes, if I have become what I am now, isn’t it all thanks to the Marquis? If you hadn’t ruthlessly driven me to my wits’ end, why would I have ended up ? After all, you brought this upon yourself, and now you have the nerve to ask me why I have changed, don’t you find it laughable?”

Shao He stepped closer to Chu Yu. If not for this sinister man before her, the original host would not have died, and she would not have come to this world. Now the very person responsible for all of it was asking her why she had changed.

Thinking about the things he had done, Chu Yu opened his mouth but ultimately said nothing.

Shao He directly pushed the man in front of her and warned him, “Marquis, it’s best you don’t provoke me again, otherwise I’m not sure if the fish will die, but the net will surely break!”

Chu Yu watched her retreating figure, lost in thought, and eventually turned and left.

Shao He arrived at the back yard, lifting her eyes just in time to see Zhao Yuebei standing not too far away. It seemed he had heard their entire conversation, but even if he had, what of it?

Zhao Yuebei walked over with medicinal herbs in hand, “Doctor Shao, I would like to ask how to distinguish this herb. I find it very similar to another, making it difficult to tell them apart.”

“Their leaf shapes are different, as are the colors of their roots. Moreover, the scents given off by these two herbs are not the same. You must observe them closely. Also, these two herbs must never be confused with one another or mixed together, for the consequences could be severe,” Shao He explained without reservation.

She never believed in holding back knowledge when teaching others. While a master can lead a student to the door, their progress depends on the individual; even the slightest mistake in practicing medicine can cost a life.

“Alright, thank you, Doctor Shao.” Zhao Yuebei noted her words carefully in his notebook, fearful of forgetting them.

Zhao Yuebei then continued, “By the way, Doctor Shao, do you know what Doctor Yun has been so busy with recently? The servant boy said that many herbs are in short supply and haven’t been replenished yet.”

“Not yet replenished?” Shao He was slightly taken aback. What important matter could Yun Qian be dealing with that he could not even take care of the medical hall?

“Yes, and Doctor Yun has been leaving early in the morning and returning late each night; no one knows what he’s been busy with,” Zhao Yuebei murmured.

Shao He furrowed her brows; it seemed she had not seen Yun Qian for quite some time and wondered if he had run into trouble.

As they were speaking, Yun Qian walked in, his appearance rushed.

Zhao Yuebei ran to catch up with him, “Doctor Yun, you’ve finally returned.”

“It’s , the medical hall is short on a few herbs. Without them, we can’t prepare prescriptions for others,” Zhao Yuebei said with urgency.

Yun Qian immediately headed toward the wing, with Zhao Yuebei following. Unable to contain his concern, he asked, “Doctor Yun, what’s wrong with you, lately you look quite unwell.”

“It’s nothing.” Yun Qian continued to walk towards the inner chamber of the medical hall, his demeanor cold. Seeing this, Zhao Yuebei wisely kept silent.

Shao He, standing in the distance, watched Yun Qian’s receding back, then turned to brew a pot of tea and knocked on his room door.

“Yun Qian, are you in there?”

Soon, the door opened, and Yun Qian, looking exhausted, peeked out.

“Is there something you need?”

“I see you’re not looking well, so I’ve brewed a pot of tea and thought we might chat.”

Shao He stepped into the room and set the freshly brewed tea on the table, pouring a cup and pushing it towards him.

Yun Qian’s expression flickered with avoidance, but eventually he sat down, reluctantly squeezing out a smile as he held the teacup, “Where have you been resting these past days? And you, what have you been so busy with? Did something happen?” Shao He couldn’t help but show concern.

She had come to regard Yun Qian as a friend after interacting with him for so long since her arrival here.

“Nothing’s wrong. I’m just a bit tired lately. I won’t be attending to the medical hall. It’s hard work, but please, help take care of things,” Yun Qian, with his hand pressing the corner of his eye, showing bloodshot tiredness as if he hadn’t rested properly in a long time.

Shao He saw that he was unwilling to share more and didn’t press him. She gave a few words of caution and stood to leave, giving him a deep look before departing.

“We’re friends. We can share in good fortune, but we can also face hardships together.”

Yun Qian gave a genuinely grateful smile, closed the door, went to his desk, and took out a letter from his chest to review.
