Out of politeness, he still invited him inside to sit for a while.
Lin Hang politely declined, and after Aunt Chen watched him leave, she told Shi Lingyan everything that evening.
"Lin Hang?" Shi Lingyan felt that the name sounded somewhat familiar.
After searching his mind for a bit, he remembered that this seemed to be Shi Mei’s ex-boyfriend.
He had gone to the United States for studies after high school and hadn’t returned since.
Why had he suddenly come back now?
Shi Lingyan looked sideways at Aunt Chen, "Is that all he said?"
Aunt Chen nodded, "Yes, he said he wanted to take the young madam to see some expert. Honestly, you also thought about curing her before. If there were a way, it wouldn’t have dragged on till now..."
Shi Lingyan nodded on hearing this, "Then let her go. It’s good that Shi Mei isn’t against it."
He thought for a moment, "We need to find her a bodyguard."
Ye Tiao was stunned by the transfer Shi Lingyan sent that evening, after a while, she immediately asked, "What’s this for?"
"Shi Mei made some new friends recently. Help keep an eye on her, don’t let her get deceived."
So, she had been made a babysitter?
And with that little schemer, getting deceived by others? She should be thankful she’s not the one deceiving others!
But money that comes without asking should never be refused.
Ye Tiao quickly replied: Task guaranteed!
After dinner, Shi Mei changed into her pajamas and rolled around on the bed. Seeing Shi Lingyan walk in, she immediately displayed the enthusiasm of a doting wife, shouting, "Hubby, you’ve come!"
Barefoot, she pounced toward him. Shi Mei’s laughter was brilliant, as clear and innocent as a bell.
She clung to him, rubbing against him and called out, "Hubby, hubby, I’ve missed you so much these days! You haven’t been home, so I drew a picture for you!"
"Really?" Shi Lingyan was surprised. "You can draw?"
"Yes, yes," Shi Mei giggled as she jumped down from him, hopping over to the bedside cabinet and pulling out a piece of paper. "Look!"
Shi Lingyan took it, first shocked by the style of the drawing.
The crooked lines barely resembled a person, drawn with crayons; a navy-blue robe and a big red mouth, and curly black hair that took up a third of the figure.
Shi Lingyan paused for a moment, "What monster is this supposed to be?"
"It’s you!" Shi Mei declared confidently. "This is the foot, this is the hand, this is the hair, this is the mouth."
Shi Mei crouched down, looked up at Shi Lingyan’s nostrils and replied, "The nose was too ugly, it looked like Peppa Pig when drawn."
"Did Shi Mei draw well?"
Shi Mei beamed, "Then I’ll draw for you often!"
Shi Lingyan: "...No need."
"No way, husband likes it so much, I must draw."
Could he still regret it now?
Shi Mei hummed a tune as she climbed onto the bed, when suddenly, a video call popped up on her phone lying on the bed.
Shi Lingyan glanced at it.
The avatar was a young man, named: Brother Heng.
Shi Mei took one look and immediately rejected it.
Shi Lingyan asked lightly, "Why didn’t you answer?"
"Don’t answer; he says he’s Shi Mei’s boyfriend, but boyfriends are supposed to get married. I’m already married, so I can’t have a boyfriend."
Shi Lingyan chuckled, "Clear thinking, but if you still liked him, you could have a boyfriend."
Shi Mei’s face suddenly turned solemn, declaring, "No way, a man’s head should not carry green."
