Shi Mei’s cheerful voice, carrying a delicate hint of childlike innocence.
After a month apart, hearing such a lively and cute laughter again made Shi Lingyan’s heart warm slightly.
However, whether intentionally or not, Shi Mei had pounced so fiercely that her knee suddenly struck the wound that had just healed.
The tearing pain made Shi Lingyan’s face turn slightly pale.
Still, he steadied her and held her in his arms.
Oblivious, Shi Mei wrapped her arms around Shi Lingyan’s neck, squeezing his waist with her legs, and pursed her lips to kiss him.
Shi Lingyan turned his head away, pushing her head back, and said sternly, "Stop messing around, get down."
"No!" Shi Mei puffed her cheeks, her voice soft and sweet as she cooed, "I missed you so much, hubby, I want kisses, hugs, and to be lifted high!"
It was then that Tang Jingming noticed Shi Lingyan’s face seemed somewhat pale and quickly stepped forward, saying, "Little sister-in-law, come down quickly, shall I hug and lift you instead?"
"No!" Shi Mei shook her head vigorously, swinging her body a bit too forcefully.
Shi Lingyan almost couldn’t hold her.
Had she... gained weight?
Or perhaps, had his strength decreased? He actually felt it was strenuous to hold her.
The pain in his lower abdomen felt like it was tearing, and Shi Lingyan couldn’t bear it any longer, his voice hoarse, "Get down first."
"No, no, kiss me, and I’ll come down!" Shi Mei said, pouting her lips like a little duckling, still moving closer.
Shi Lingyan decisively turned his head away and pressed her head down again, saying, "No, get down."
Saying so, he let Shi Mei go.
Shi Mei immediately burst into tears, "No, no, no, I want kisses, I want hugs, I want to be lifted high!"
Shi Mei’s crying drew the attention of many people at the airport.
