Reborn as His Intellectually Disabled Wife Chapter 506

Shi Mei smiled wryly and retorted, "Haven’t you noticed that I look a lot like Tang Wu?"

Jian Yun was taken aback and extremely embarrassed, "I..."

"That guy also said," Shi Mei’s gaze drifted toward Shi Lingyan, who was driving, "especially when playing an instrument..."

Jian Yun felt a complex mixture of emotions as she likewise turned to look at Shi Lingyan.

Shi Lingyan, however, showed no sign of embarrassment. He drove steadily and even seemed composed, "Indeed, she does resemble her. Aside from the face, you could say they’re identical. Don’t you think so, Auntie?"

Shi Mei glanced over again without revealing her emotions.

Jian Yun hadn’t expected Shi Lingyan to be so candid, and what was more frightening was that Shi Mei seemed completely unbothered by it.

This situation greatly surprised Jian Yun.

What shocked her even more was that Shi Mei didn’t seem to be surprised at all.

After feeling awkward and distressed, Jian Yun’s gaze toward Shi Mei became increasingly sincere, "I’m going to speak my mind, and I hope you won’t get angry."

"It’s alright," Shi Mei said smilingly, "Go ahead."

"Indeed, you do resemble my daughter," Jian Yun took Shi Mei’s hand, "Whether it’s Senior Sister or Shi Mei, looking at you feels very familiar to me. May I ask what instruments you can play?" Get full chapters from 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵·𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮·𝓷𝓮𝓽

"Well," Shi Mei responded with a light, enchanting smile, "I’ve been learning the lute and the piano since I was young. I’m not as proficient with the guqin as with the lute, but I guess I’m pretty good among my peers? I can play the guitar, the bass, the harmonica, and I even learned to play the flute for a while."

The more Jian Yun heard, the more taken aback she felt, "How long did you study flute?"

"A few months, but then I stopped because I ran out of time," Shi Mei chuckled, "Why do you ask?"

Tears welled slightly in Jian Yun’s eyes, "What about dancing?"

Tang Wu had a strong ability to learn and a nimble mind. She rarely caused worries from a young age, but she never managed to learn dance.

Granny Tang started cajoling her into learning dance when she was three years old. Xiao Wu really disliked it and often ran away, causing her grandmother much frustration.

Later, she sort of picked up street dance over a summer but abandoned it after being scolded by her grandmother.

But Shi Mei’s foundation in dance was much stronger than Tang Wu’s.

In this respect, they were not quite the same.

But in almost all other things, they seemed nearly identical.

Shi Mei said, "It’s been quite a while. I probably started learning about the same time I started piano lessons."

Tang Wu had been learning the piano since she was five years old.

Back then, she struggled even to climb onto the piano stool, but she loved bouncing her little hands across the keys. After watching her play a tune, she could reproduce its melody, which astonished the entire family with her musical talent.

They were overjoyed and did everything they could to teach her, even forcing her to continue learning when she grew tired of it.

Tang Wu had carried her family’s hopes from a very young age.

Grandpa Tang and Mr. Tang hoped she would join the military, while she and Granny Tang wished for her to carry on their artistic legacy.

Fortunately, Tang Wu had her own dreams and choices, and she had managed to carve out her own space in the world.

Lost in her thoughts, Jian Yun looked at Shi Mei’s face and couldn’t help mentally overlapping it with Tang Wu’s, saying earnestly, "If Xiao Wu were still alive, she would definitely love to be friends with you."
