Shi Mei gripped her cellphone tightly and swiftly turned her head to look.
Shi Lingyan stood tall and graceful, radiating a glow as if it were innate, his cold and distinguished demeanor was enough to stir hearts with just a glance.
The moment he entered, her attention was drawn to him.
Shi Mei saw his gaze pause briefly on her before it fell on her cellphone.
Alarms blared in Shi Mei’s mind.
Deciding to go all out, she immediately lunged toward him with a voice full of surprise and tenderness, "Honey, you’re back!"
She threw herself onto him with more force than necessary.
Out of Ling Yan’s sight, Shi Mei quickly switched the app on her phone.
The phone played a cute child’s voice: "Hello everyone, I am Peppa Pig, this is my little brother George..."
Shi Lingyan’s brow furrowed tightly, his voice low and impatient, "Move aside."
Shi Mei was pushed aside in an instant, a look of dissatisfaction spreading across her face as she pouted and called, "Husband!"
But Shi Lingyan walked right past her, stripping off his suit jacket as he headed for the bathroom.
At that moment, Shi Mei noticed his complexion was an abnormal shade of pale.
With his left hand on his stomach, he maintained his usual upright posture while walking, but Shi Mei knew him too well.
It was likely his gastritis acting up again.
The bathroom door slammed shut, and Ling Yan didn’t even spare her a glance.
Shi Mei breathed a sigh of relief, hurriedly sent off the message, and then texted Ye Tiao: If I don’t come looking for you, don’t seek me out. Otherwise, it will be the end of me, remember this!
After sending it, she deleted the text message and browsing history thoroughly.

She opened Peppa Pig, pretending to watch with great interest.
But... such cartoons were truly boring.
Shi Mei feigned interest until she dozed off into a daze.
When she woke up again, she noticed the heavy breathing in the room.

Shi Lingyan, wearing a robe, sat beside a small table with a laptop on it.
Curled up on the tatami, his pallor seemed even more pronounced under the dim light of the computer.
Shi Mei approached him softly, calling out, "Husband."
Ling Yan’s brows furrowed and he slowly opened his eyes.
Shi Mei embraced him, her voice soft and gentle, "Shall we go to bed and sleep?"
Shi Lingyan tensed up and pushed her away with a cold frown, "Move aside."
"No, no!" Shi Mei pouted, "I want to sleep with my husband and make babies!"
With that, she actually lay down beside Shi Lingyan!
Ling Yan’s brow twitched, and with a disdainful sneer, he asked, "You like sleeping here?"
Shi Mei nodded innocently, "Yep yep!"
"Then stay here and don’t move." Shi Lingyan, as if running out of patience, got up and tossed the thin blanket on him towards her.
He then went to that long-missed big bed.
Fortunately, Shi Mei only occupied half the bed when she slept.
Although her sleeping posture was a bit messy, the other half of the bed remained clean and tidy.
Shi Lingyan lay down, holding his stomach, and the comfort of lying flat caused him to let out a low sigh involuntarily.
Shi Mei crept over cautiously and asked in a whisper, "Does your tummy hurt, husband?"
