Shi Mei gripped her hand tightly and shouted, "Wait a moment!"
Ye Tiao paused in her movements.
Shi Mei held her mask, staring at her intently, and said word by word, "The mask can be taken off, but you must agree to a condition."
A gleam shone in Ye Tiao’s eyes, and she asked instinctively, "What?"
"I am disfigured, and my background is very pitiful. You have never seen what I look like, and also, I am not Tang Wu."
That last sentence had a rather meaningful depth.
"How about it?" Shi Mei pressed on.
Shi Mei pushed her hand away and took off the mask herself.
The dark mask made the skin underneath even more delicate and radiant.
With just one glance, Ye Tiao was astounded!
Her skin was smooth and tender, pale with a hint of rosiness, and her youthful and refined face looked no older than seventeen or eighteen.
Her long black hair was tied into a ponytail, paired with her fresh white shirt and black pants, which made one think of a term immediately—first love.
Especially those eyes, large and round, shiny and deep black, and when they looked at her, they were so clear and bright, as if they could speak.
Truth be told, Ye Tiao’s heart melted under her gaze.

She knew Tang Wu so well; how could this person not be Tang Wu?

Shi Mei put the mask back on, ignoring Ye Tiao’s dismayed state, and directly stated her requirement, "Tang Wu asked you to take good care of me. If she knew you forced me to take off the mask, she might get angry."
"Let her be angry!" Ye Tiao suddenly stepped back, her lips seemingly curving into a smile, but in the next second, tears started rolling down, "I don’t even want to serve anymore. Ye Tiao roared loudly, grabbing the ashtray from the table and smashing it fiercely.
The solid wood door was immediately dented by the glass ashtray.
Shi Mei paused for a moment, then stood up, and said coldly, "What are you freaking out about?"
Ye Tiao was taken aback.
"Have you ever thought about it, why she is alive and hasn’t come to find you, why has it been three years and she only contacted you now?" Shi Mei’s voice got heavier, "Wake up, Ye Tiao, if it wasn’t for me, she would have been gone three years ago."
If it weren’t for Shi Mei, Tang Wu couldn’t possibly stand before Ye Tiao again.
Though her identity had drastically changed, at least Tang Wu was still alive.
Ye Tiao found it hard to believe that the person in front of her was not Tang Wu.
Even the tone of her voice when she spoke seriously was exactly like Tang Wu.
But oddly enough, no one knew better than her.
