“Abigail Green felt heartache for the first time, a wrenching emotional pain that manifested physically.

The entire old courtyard felt like an empty city, with no sight of the usual cleaners, gardeners, or even the house steward.
Unable to hold back any longer, Abigail ran up the stairs and pushed open the nursery door.
Though she had already expected this, Abigail couldn’t bear it. Her mind was filled with the image of Brandon Piers lying in a pool of blood when she first found him in the lab, and the girl on the hospital bed losing too much blood.

“Miss Abigail, please don’t worry. You have to trust that we are more worried about the young master than you are. Young Master Roberts has already sent people to search, but the exact whereabouts of the young master are still unknown. Everything about the young master is personally arranged by the second master. You must trust the second master…” Pullan felt relieved hearing the doctor say that the second master’s condition was stable and could wake up at any time, so he quietly tried to comfort Abigail.
Abigail hung up before Pullan could finish. Don’t worry? How could she not worry? She was Teddy’s biological mother. She had every reason to be worried!
And to trust Brandon? He almost got her killed in the operating room. How could she believe he could ensure Teddy’s safety?
