As she said this, an uncontrollable, insane joy spread across Rose’s face, reminding Abigail of the phrase, “beaming with delight!”

The intense threat made Rose glare angrily, “You dare!”
“Whether I dare or not, it depends on whether Aunt keeps her word.” Abigail looked at Rose, her ill-fitted makeup making her smile appear even more sinister.
Rose felt a chill, though it didn’t show on her face. Her steps were hurried as she quickly opened the door and left the room. She faced Lincoln Green waiting outside, her eyes reddened, “Husband, I’m sorry, I couldn’t persuade Abigail…”
“How can this be your fault?” Seeing his crying wife, Lincoln hurriedly pulled her into his arms, “It’s all my fault for having such an unfilial daughter, making her hurt your heart over outsiders.”
“It’s my fault too, for failing to educate Abigail properly.” Rose’s grievances grew.
Lincoln gently patted his wife, “No, this isn’t your fault. You’re so kind and have taught Ruby so well. It’s your husband who has wronged you and your daughter.”
Abigail held the doorknob, feeling nauseous as if her breakfast were about to come up from her stomach. When a straight man started speaking sweet words, it made ordinary people feel truly ashamed of their inadequacy!
