Chapter 199: Chapter 199 Can He Return It Now?
When they arrived at the hospital, after a round of “rescue” efforts, Brandon Piers was sent back to his room.
Abigail glanced at the room she had left in disarray, awkwardly touching her nose. “Um… Should I tidy it up for you?”
“No need. This is your reward for saving my life.” Brandon leaned against the hospital bed, looking at the torn quilt. He endured the discomfort while shaking his half-ripped pants leg. “This is just fine.”
Abigail gave the man a meaningful look. “Really?”
“Really.” Brandon, wanting to tease Abigail and back up his own words, forced himself to finish speaking even though he had a bad feeling.
Sure enough, he watched as Abigail yanked at the wedding dress and, with force, pried off the central pink diamond.
That wasn’t all. Abigail, having removed the pink diamond, casually tugged the same-colored bow at her waist to the side, making one big and one small bow.
Could he still return it now?
Before Brandon could explode, urgent knocking came from outside.
Brandon ground his teeth. “Come in.”
Kelly, carrying Teddy, hurriedly pushed the door open. “Second Master, Teddy is hungry… Teddy wants Abigail.”
Kelly, who had been taking care of the child, didn’t know what had happened at the engagement scene. She also didn’t know that the Second Master already knew Abigail was a mother. Halfway through her words, she quickly corrected herself.
“Yes, hand him over to her. You can leave.” Brandon spoke.
Kelly hesitated. “But…”
“Just go out.” Brandon didn’t give Kelly a chance to argue.
Kelly stood there awkwardly, looking at Abigail with worried eyes.
Abigail stepped forward, took Teddy, lightly touched the little guy’s nose with her cheek, and gestured at Kelly to reassure her. “Wait for me outside.”
Kelly left the ward, though still confused.
The Teddy in Abigail’s arms was not that well-behaved. He hadn’t eaten enough with Kelly, and now, smelling his mommy’s scent, he snuggled for a while and then started head-butting Abigail’s chest before she could feed him.
Nearly three hours had passed since the engagement started, and Abigail’s breasts were already full. With Teddy’s head-butts, she let out a muffled groan, a pair of teary eyes brimming with tears.
Yet the little guy, with innocent wide eyes, looked more aggrieved than Abigail.
Brandon knew Teddy had a temper and could never go hungry. He didn’t expect the little guy to be so fierce while breastfeeding. Watching the plump little one usually so stubborn now crying with tears pooling, Brandon couldn’t help but pinch his fingertips.
Abigail gently rocked the little guy, trying to calm him.
But maybe because of extreme hunger, the little guy was particularly irritable, refusing to be soothed, continuously head-butting Abigail’s chest, waving his little arms, and babbling.
Abigail then realized her miscalculation. She wasn’t wearing a nursing dress and couldn’t immediately feed him. The wedding dress’s zipper was at the back.
By now calling Kelly was out of the question. Abigail instinctively looked at Brandon.
To her surprise, Brandon was also looking at her.
Yet the little one in her arms didn’t sense his mommy’s embarrassment at all, continuing to nuzzle and head-butt.
Abigail hurriedly said, “I’ll go inside.”
“Come here,” Brandon commanded domineeringly after snapping back.
“Do you think you can unzip the dress while holding Teddy?” Brandon tried to sound as normal as possible.
Abigail froze, looked at the hungry wailing little one in her arms, then at her wedding dress, and gritted her teeth as she stepped forward.
