Teddy’s laughter snapped Abigail back to reality. She met Brandon Piers’ amused gaze and quickly stepped back, feeling embarrassed.
“Does it look good?” Brandon Piers did not let Abigail go.
“It’s okay.” Facing the man’s mocking expression, Abigail answered straightforwardly.
She had never denied Brandon Piers’ attractiveness.
But while Abigail remained composed, Brandon Piers felt a bit uneasy, especially recalling the sensation of his fingertips brushing against her chest. He subconsciously glanced at Abigail’s chest, only to be caught red-handed.
This was different from merely appreciating someone’s beauty.
Abigail remembered the moment when the man’s fingertips touched her chest and shot a fierce look at Brandon Piers.
Brandon Piers’ handsome face turned bright red with embarrassment, feeling a bit remorseful. “I was just trying to remind you… you really need to lose some weight.”
With that, the ambiguous tension in the hospital room instantly dissipated.
Abigail knew her current weight was concerning and had even made a weight loss plan. But that did not mean she liked being openly criticized for it. Her expression immediately turned cold. “Oh, you should also take good care of your health.”
Someone felt his male pride had taken a huge hit.
Abigail only gave the man in the hospital bed a deep look and responded in a flat tone, “I mean it.”
Brandon Piers took a deep breath.
“Take care, Brandon.” Abigail refused to look at him.
“Hehe…” Teddy, the little boy, did not sense his father’s shame and anger at all. Seeing Brandon Piers’ handsome face made him laugh happily.
Brandon Piers responded with a forced smile, “You take care too.”
Abigail, “…” She suddenly gave him a slight smile, then used an extremely slow motion to deliberately mess up the bow tie Brandon had just straightened. With elegance, she held Teddy and walked out of the hospital room.
“Come in.” Brandon Piers suppressed the agitation in his voice.
Pullan discerned that his boss was not in a good mood. He entered slowly. “Well… Brandon, I must protect you first. Can we postpone the flower arrangement?”
He did not want to arrange flowers.
“Go, bring me the iPad.” Brandon was too lazy to bother with him.
Pullan quickly tried to stop him. “You just came out of the emergency room and need rest. Secretary Max and Special Assistant Max will handle work matters.”
Brandon Piers stared at Pullan with his slender eyes.
Pullan could not withstand that look from Brandon and obediently took the tablet out of the briefcase, handing it to him.
Then, he saw the sick man about to work instead open a women’s clothing store on the tablet. In no time, dozens of branded clothes were added to the shopping cart, from shirts to shoes, all very complete.
Pullan, “What are you doing?”
“Have them sent back to the old house. Make sure she wears them.” Brandon instructed in a calm voice.
Pullan did not understand for a moment.
Brandon Piers stared at Pullan.
Pullan shivered, thinking of the woman, Abigail, leaving with the child earlier, and recalling the sounds from the hospital room before. He grabbed the iPad and ran out, “Brandon, I’ll go right away.”
Pullan, with his hand on the door, mechanically turned back. “Brandon, what else?”
“And bring back the wedding dress. Send it over.” Brandon’s voice seemed emotionless.
Pullan, “…” Since when did Brandon become so stingy?
An hour later, Pullan brought the wedding dress back to the hospital room. Brandon Piers redid the crooked bow tie, and a wave of irritation finally calmed within him.
