“Dad, don’t blame my sister. She has her reasons for doing this. After all, the second young master isn’t just anyone…” Ruby Green saw Lincoln Green getting angry. She felt proud secretly but appeared even more sorrowful.
“Because the second young master isn’t just anyone, he is definitely not someone she can covet!” Lincoln Green said with a stern face.
“But you saw at the engagement banquet, the second young master treated Abigail very well.” Mentioning the engagement banquet made Ruby Green grit her teeth in hatred.
Lincoln Green had heard many rumors these days. Many people mocked the second young master for having poor eyesight and peculiar tastes because of Abigail. Hearing Ruby’s words, he frowned, “The second young master gave her face only because of the child. Could he really like her?”
“But… she’s now the young mistress of the Piers family. Our Green family can’t compare…” Saying this, Ruby Green lowered her head in sadness, looking at her own legs.
Rose Taylor couldn’t hold back anymore and started to sob, “My poor Ruby. If your legs don’t get better, what will Mom do?”
Lincoln Green looked at the mother and daughter, feeling a surge of protectiveness, “I will go find her!”

Abigail Green had just coaxed Teddy to sleep and got up cautiously to meet Lincoln Green.

“What do you want to see me about?” Abigail asked as she came downstairs. The elderly master had already gone to bed early, and Brandon Piers was not around. Currently engaged to Brandon and being Teddy’s biological mother, she was half the owner of this house. She softly told the butler and the servants to rest before looking at Lincoln Green.
She didn’t father, but seeing his aggressive demeanor, she feared that duo of mother and daughter was stirring up trouble again. She didn’t want others to laugh at her.
However, Lincoln Green was aggravated by Abigail’s attitude. Realizing that this daughter did indeed have the power to prevent Ruby from receiving treatment, he spoke angrily, “Do you really think of yourself as the mistress of the Piers family?”
“Is that not possible?” Abigail responded coldly.
Lincoln Green was taken aback but ultimately considered the Piers behind Abigail. He didn’t reprimand her further; instead, he commanded, “No matter what, you can’t block your sister’s way.”
Abigail raised her eyebrows. What had she done to Ruby this time?
Seeing Abigail feign ignorance, Lincoln Green continued, “You have the guts to do it but not to take responsibility. Wasn’t it you who spilled coffee on Ruby? Didn’t you get Sincere Hospital to kick her out and forbid all hospitals in Gills City from treating her? Don’t you know her legs need the best treatment?”
“Ha.” Abigail was surprised. Ruby was kicked out by Sincere Hospital and rejected by other hospitals in Gills City. Who had such influence?
“What are you laughing at?” Lincoln Green was furious at Abigail but strangely feared this daughter after their last encounter. He always felt that her sharp, dark eyes could see through people.
“Yes, I spilled the coffee, but I don’t know about the hospital. I don’t have that kind of power. You overestimate me, Boss Green,” Abigail responded bluntly.
But Lincoln Green didn’t believe her, “Who else would dare to offend our Green family in Gills City? If not you, then who?”
Abigail was stunned. Suddenly, Brandon Piers’ handsome face came to mind. She remembered how he seemed so concerned when asking about her burn injury today. Could it have been him?
She shook her head. How could Brandon Piers go to such lengths for her against Ruby?
