Ruby assured herself verbally that her leg would be fine, but in reality, she had no confidence.

She knew that the Stones were definitely capable of doing such things, but after what had happened, Lincoln Green was already somewhat unhappy with them. If they got involved with the Stones over monetary matters, who knew what would happen?
Besides, she knew Lincoln Pharmaceuticals’ financial situation well. The project had just started and was in dire need of funding. Asking Lincoln Green to come up with six million was impossible. Even three million would be difficult.
Not to mention, there was still Summer’s debt to pay off.
“That’s good.” Seeing Ruby give in, Clark Stone was pleased and patted the back of her hand lightly. “Actually, I wasn’t lying when I said I liked you back in school. The photos were just for keeping a memento.”
Ruby knew Clark Stone wasn’t lying about that, but she was also clear that while he liked her, he was also scheming against her.

“Ruby, calm down!” Rose Taylor was afraid Lincoln Green would hear the noise and rushed to pull Ruby back.
Ruby’s eyes were red. “Mom, I don’t want to marry Clark Stone. The person I want to marry is Brandon Piers, the second son of the Piers family. Who does Clark Stone think he is? He’s just trash. How can trash marry me?”
“Mom knows, Mom knows. But isn’t there no other way right now? Just endure it for a few days. We’ll get you to the hospital first, then we can think of another plan.”
