Jaded Lord Serion Caelus looked at Skolvar with amusement. "And why’s that? I thought you’ve already changed sides. Are you changing to another side again?"
Skolvar had a look of disgust on his face as he heard that, and he sneered. "I don’t care about Galthor, but he’s a barbarian, and it is undeniable that he carries the bloodline of a tribe like Stronghide. A strong tribe.
"If he fights, he would be representing us. I do not want our reputation to reach rock bottom because of someone like him. Why doesn’t he fight someone in the lower rank? Maybe someone in the third stage."
The words and intention made a lot of people chuckle. Karathra and Brakthar stared daggers at Skolvar and his followers as they openly smiled and laughed.
But Galthor himself had no reaction. He only looked at Jaded Lord Serion Caelus to see his reaction.
The lord actually thought about it and seemed to be considering it, but then he shook his head. "He said he killed a cursed monster by himself, didn’t he? Then it’s only right that I give him someone his own size to fight."
Skolvar’s eyes darkened, and he turned to Galthor. "I don’t know what is giving you the illusion of strength, but I’ll advise you to stop. You will actually die."
Galthor smirked. "I didn’t know you were so interested in keeping me alive, Skolvar."

Galthor snorted. "You’ll get your chance. I’ll deal with you once I’m done here. To all the barbarians here, once I’m done with everything, then I’ll ask you only one question. So start thinking of your answers now. Who will you follow?"
His tone was mild and almost playful, and yet those who heard it couldn’t help but feel some uncomfortable strength in it. The air in the throne room turned even colder as the barbarians gave him hard looks.
But it was broken when a commotion erupted from the doorway. It was a reaction that almost everyone had as the First Commander entered the throne room.
He walked briskly to the front, not sparing anyone or anything a single look. His eyes were only on the throne, and he bowed when he got to the front, a few feet from Galthor.
"I am here, Jaded Lord!"
Galthor took the chance to study First Commander Oryn. The Winged person was tall and muscular, with wings of black and gold. His face looked regal and cold, with eyes of blue storms, just like the aura that surrounded him. Like storms.
Jaded Lord Serion Caelus nodded. "First Commander Oryn, I charge you to have a duel to the death with Chief Galthor. He wants to stand in for his criminal people. Do not disappoint me."
Oryn bowed even lower and then stood up to face Galthor, looking up at the barbarian slightly. "My lord, this man does not have essence in him."
Jaded Lord Serion Caelus shrugged. "And yet he claims to have killed a cursed monster. He said he’s worthy of being a banner, and he must prove it.
"Who knows? Maybe he has a Legacy he’s depending on." His voice was filled with doubt that he didn’t try to hide. The Jaded Lord looked at Galthor and then shifted to Karathra, as if he was waiting for them to break and reveal the trick they’d been playing.
But Galthor only shrugged his massive shoulders and turned to Karathra. "Keep an eye on Skolvar. Don’t let him out of your sight. I have a promise to keep with him."
Although his voice was low, a lot of people heard it, and they were shocked.
He’s really going to fight a Legacy-blessed like Commander Oryn? Even a master essence user, no matter how strong, would be crushed by him. Even if Galthor had somehow gotten his hands on some kind of powers, isn’t it too arrogant to think he could fight someone like Oryn?
There was an almost collective pause in the hall as they all waited for him to break, but Galthor simply looked down at the Commander and smiled. "I am ready."
Of course, Galthor did not make the decision lightly. It was just something he had to do. He needed to be a banner to get his hands on the Legacy, and at the same time, he must free his people to gain more worshippers, or at the very least, followers.
And to do all of that, he needed to fight and kill Commander Oryn. But at the same time, the other man would also be trying to kill him.
There was no need for more words as the Jaded Lord clapped his hands.
Everyone in the hall created more space and moved away from the center, where a circular opening slowly appeared, the floor gently receding to show a pit—a fighting arena down below.
The Jaded Lord smiled, his teeth flashing like white silver. "I have prepared a table before you."
Galthor matched his smile with one of his own. "Thank you, Jaded Lord. I will feast."
