Xiaofeng’s belly had grown larger yet again, and her workload seemed to be increasing by the day.
Since the supermarket was opening tomorrow, Ye Cheng, worried about Xiaofeng, had come over from Imperial Capital a day early, fearing she wouldn’t be able to handle the strain and taking her place to oversee the supermarket.
"Sister-in-law, you’re really amazing," Wu Ershun, glancing at Brother Cheng, who was earnestly operating the cash register system nearby, gave Xiaofeng a thumbs up. "My brother Cheng is really good to you."
"If you’re jealous, go ahead and find a wife for yourself. Have a loving marriage so I can be jealous too." Tomorrow was the opening day, so Xiaofeng had Ershun check all the computer equipment in the supermarket to prevent any major errors during the rush.
After over a month of learning, Ershun might not be an expert on computers, but he could handle most common issues.
In his own words, he had finally discovered his talent: it was messing with high-tech stuff; if it wasn’t high-tech, he couldn’t play at all.
"First, my brother needs to get married. Why the hurry for me? While he’s still single, I can play around for a few more years," Ershun didn’t want to get married so quickly.
Getting married that early, wouldn’t that be seeking death?
"How’s your brother doing recently?" It had been a while since Wu Yifan had been seen.
"He’s working at my dad’s place, and I heard he’s doing well." His brother’s capability was beyond doubt: "Unless something unexpected happens, taking over my dad’s position should be no problem."
"That’s great to hear." No wonder he hadn’t been seen lately; he had been busy working.
Having finished setting up on another computer, Ye Cheng came over: "Where are Fangzhou and Lele?"
"There, over there," Xiaofeng pointed with her lips: "They’re playing the absent shopkeepers."
Che Xiaocui came over with a work schedule in hand: "Where’s General Manager Zhao? I need to check this schedule with him."
"General Manager Zhao is in a meeting with the staff," Ershun pointed in another direction.
"Oh, I’ll go find him." Che Xiaocui, dressed in the store’s uniform and wearing a cap, emanated a vitality that had been missing before, now brimming with zest and enthusiasm.
This change was a surprise even to Xiaocui herself; she had never expected to one day become the person she wanted to be.
Because of the opening tomorrow, Ye Cheng and Xiaofeng of course couldn’t rush back to the county and had to find a place to stay in the city.
Xiaofeng took a shower and washed her hair as well.
Seeing her come out, Ye Cheng quickly grabbed a towel to help her dry it: "It’s late, if you wash your hair now, what if you catch a cold?"
"It’s hot nowadays, it will dry in no time." Xiaofeng took the towel and dried herself: "Go take your shower."
"It’s okay, let me finish drying your hair first." Ye Cheng remembered his uncle and aunt were planning to visit Xiqian County: "I have an uncle and an aunt, they’ve been to Xijiang County before. I’ve gathered that they might visit in the next two months to see their old place. I plan to tell them about our situation, so when they come, you can entertain them for me."
Ye Cheng trusted his uncle and aunt, so he wanted Xiaofeng to meet them in advance. That way, when Xiaofeng returned to Imperial Capital, she wouldn’t feel lonely being acquainted with no one.
"Your uncle and your aunt?" Xiaofeng, surprised: "They’ve been to Xijiang County before?"
"Yes, they were sent down here before." Ye Cheng continued with the towel, "The two of them have a pair of treasures, boy and girl twins, and I guess they will come together."
"Other than revisiting the old place, do they have other matters to attend to here?" They must be people of substantial status, not likely to just come back for a simple visit.
