Reborn In Another World As A Spirit Familiar Chapter 122

The people in the church evacuated when Vanport and Leyhna clashed. I was beginning to worry about Fina since there was just so much fire everywhere, but there was already an aura cool to the touch surrounding her.

("That's a cool skill.") [Solace]

Vanport and Leyhna fought fiercely. At some point, the church was in ruins.

"Leyhna! Do it now!" [Fina]

Leyhna ducked under a slash, revealing a stone arrow flying past her.

"Hm?!" [Vanport]

Eyes widening, he quickly caught the arrow with one hand.

("What?!") [Solace]

I was utterly surprised by that. Well, probably not as surprsied as Vanport when Leyhna picked up a bench and swung at him with it.

"Catch this!" [Leyhna]

Reacting quickly, Vanport cut the bench before it could land a solid hit.

"Oh wow. I didn't expect that." [Leyhna]

She spoke sarcastically. It was then that Vanport took notice of the frost accumulating around the joints of his armor.

"What sorcery is this...?" [Vanport]

As he was about to cast a spell to counter it, Leyhna rushed him with a flurry of strikes.

"I'm not letting you catch a break!" [Leyhna]

"You and your damn tricks!" [Vanport]

He managed to defend against Leyhna's attacks flawlessy, but he started to show signs of slowing down.

"|Flame Breath|!" [Vanport]

In an attempt to force Leynha back, he spewed fire at her. However, Leyhna charged through the flames and gave him a solid punch to the face.

"Agh!" [Vanport]

"Huh?! Leyhna!" [Solace]

Leyhna burst out laughing as Vanport staggered.

"Did you really try to use a fire attack against someone blessed by the |Flame God| himself?" [Leyhna]

Vanport smiled.

"I wasn't aiming to harm you." [Vanport]

"What?" [Leyhna]

It was then Leyhna noticed that Vanport's sword was missing.

"Where did it go?!" [Leyhna]

She glanced around, causing her to panick as she saw the sword sticking out of Fina's leg. While Leyhna had been distracted by Vanport's |Flame Breath|, I was panicking about Fina's wound from the sword Vanport threw.

("That damn idiot! I knew I shouldn't have trusted Leyhna with this!") [Solace]

The only saving grace here was that the sword was no longer on fire.

"Fina!" [Leyhna]

"Your opponent is over here." [Vanport]

Leyhna wanted to come to Fina's aid, but Vanport started attacking her with his fists.

("Damn it! I might as well just turn human right now and help her!") [Solace]

Just as I was about to summon myself, Fina started to pull out the sword.

("NOOO!! You'll bleed out if you do that!") [Solace]

Fina stifled her groans until she managed to take the entire sword out. Even then, she didn't make a peep.

"|Low Cure|." [Fina]

Hovering a hand over the wound, the bleeding stopped. That was only the good thing about it. The bad thing was that the gaping wound made by a longsword was currently closing very slowly.

("That's it, I'm summoning myself.") [Solace]

I originally was going to summon myself then and there, but Fina was no longer in what I considered a critical condition. Instead, I flew right out to the front of the church and used |Mimic|.

"You have gained |Experience|. |Mimic| has gained a level." [Spirit Guide]

I quickly used the |Wardrobe| skill to fully clothe myself before stepping into the church. Of course, someone like Vanport immediately detected me the moment I entered.

"You...!" [Vanport] [Fina]

I know Vanport recognized me, but I had totally forgotten Fina saw me when I first got my |Mimic|. Matter of fact, she has technically only met my human form once for only a minute or two.

"...Yeah. Me." [Solace]

"Took you long enough!" [Leyhna]

Leyhna was still locked in combat with Vanport, who then made a few complicated movements before kicking her away and turning towards me.

"Are you here to fight me as well?" [Vanport]

I shrugged.

"What's it look like?" [Solace]

Vanport let out a haughty grunt.

"You all have no honor." [Vanport]

"And how is that?" [Solace]

"Do you dare to fight against me alone?" [Vanport]

("Oh. This guy is complaining about us ganging up on him.") [Solace]

I couldn't help letting out a brief chuckle at his provocation.

"That's real funny coming from someone who attacked me with a bunch of knights." [Solace]

"Wait. When did that happen?" [Leyhna]

"I was at Medwin's manor. Vanport almost crushed my head with a piece of wall." [Solace]

"...How?" [Leyhna]

"Don't sweat the small stuff." [Solace]
