The plan was simple. Hit Vanport with the wombo combo. Just kidding. We decided on a rotation of who's attacking and who's defending.
"Let's go." [Solace]
We both rushed forwards, in which I grabbed another rock and threw it at him.
"Catch this!" [Solace]
As expected, Vanport smacked it away. That meant the distraction worked.
"|Piercing Blow|!" [Solace]
Vanport brought up both swords to block it, but quickly recognized the move. Instead, he put away the swords and received my punch directly.
("What?!") [Solace]
The skill passed through, blowing a hole through the wall behind Vanport.
"I have finally caught you." [Vanport]
Staring me down, I smiled.
"Have you really?" [Solace]
He had a look of confusion as Leyhna's foot entered my view. She kicked him square in the face, causing him to reel backwards.
"Keep going!" [Leyhna]
"I know!" [Solace]
We attacked in order to keep pressure on him. I didn't even want to give this guy any room to breathe.
"|Enchant Lightning|!" [Solace]
Wrapping my fists with yellow lightning, it mixed with Leyhna's crimson flames. Vanport attempted to defend against us with one hand each, but we were slowly overpowering him.
"Have you no honor?!" [Vanport]
Neither Leyhna nor I replied. Vanport began to feel frustration, in which he decided to take one of my punches in order to slash at Leyhna.
"Oh no you don't!" [Solace]
I grabbed his arm, allowing Leyhna to get a clean hit in.
"Urgh!" [Vanport]
He turned his head towards me, opening his mouth with flaming embers emerging.
"Dodge!" [Leyhna]
So she said, but the flames were already spilling out. I closed my eyes to prepare for a burning sensation, but I opened my eyes to see a puddle of water blocking my face.
"What?" [Solace]
"Don't forget me." [Fina]
There she was. Fina had completely healed her leg and managed to save me in time.
"...What an annoyance!" [Vanport]
Vanport summoned up strength within the arm I locked down, somehow throwing me off. By that, I mean literally. I was thrown across the church into a bench. The guy literally made me take a seat.
"Oof!" [Solace]
"Alt?!" [Leyhna]
I tried to stand, but the bench collapsed beneath me.
"Really?!" [Solace]
In my confusion, I looked up to see a sword mere inches from my face.
"Oh shit!" [Solace]
I leaned backwards enough to evade it. It appeared that Vanport had thrown it away from afar.
"Nice dodge!" [Leyhna]
She gave me a thumbs up. However, her cheerfulness was interrupted when Vanport started putting her in a combo.
"W-wait!" [Leyhna]
"|Hardened Sword Arts: Twelve Heart Steel|." [Vanport]
His next movements became confusing. It felt like three of him appeared all slashing in separate directions.
"Leyhna!" [Fina]
"I got it!" [Leyhna]
She furrowed her brows and took on a serious expression. Taking a stance I've never seen before, Leyhna started to either evade or deflect the slashes.
("How is she doing that?!") [Solace]
Nevermind that, I had to do something. Though it may seem Leyhna was doing fine, I could see small cuts accumulate on her body.
("|Terra Javelin|.") [Solace]
I pulled a rocky spear from the ground, tensing my muscles before throwing it with all my might.
"Again?!" [Vanport]
He spun his body so that the spear passed right by him before grabbing it and throwing it back.
"So this is what we're doing now?!" [Solace]
I copied his movements, barely managing to catch the spear before throwing it once again. Vanport took notice of that, so he began to spin again too.
"You fell for it!" [Solace]
I ran towards him, catching the spear the moment it exited his hands. Not only that, Fina and Leyhna grabbed his arms in order to leave an opening.
"Checkmate!" [Solace]
I used the spear to stab at his chest, but Vanport used sheer physical strength to headbutt the spear angle downwards. Luckily, it wasn't much of a problem since the spear still pierced his lower abdomen.
"Urgh!" [Vanport]
Grunting loudly, Vanport let out a low growl. Blood oozed out onto the spear as Vanport seemed to lose strength.
"...Did we do it?" [Leyhna]
("NOOOOO!!!") [Solace]
Just as she said that, Vanport basically did the equivalent of coming back to life.
"Unhand me!" [Vanport]
He set himself ablaze, forcing all three of us back. Everytime I think back to this moment I feel such a large amount of seething rage that I am tempted to snap my desk in half.
"|Lasting Finality|." [Vanport]
Stabbing his golden sword into the ground, a crack formed beneath him. Shining lights peered through, closing his wound as Vanport pulled out the spear.
"He's... healing?" [Leyhna]
The lights surrounding him then turned itself into corporeal armor. It looked similar to Vanport's metallic armor before it broke, but it also had leathery wings attached to his back.
"...This guy really had a second phase." [Solace]
