Oled walked me to the city's border. He still seemed quite sad that I was leaving, but he never said a word to make me stay.

I started walking, but I heard Oled whisper behind.
"Come visit again." [Oled]
Hearing that, I couldn't help smiling.
"I will." [Solace]

I walked for quite the while. Strangely, I didn't feel like turning back into a spirit to fly to the next mine.
("Now, where's the next location?") [Solace]
Checking the map, the last location was Orinda Mine.
("...About three days walk away. Probably half a day if I fly though.") [Solace]
Thinking about it, only a few days had passed since I started my journey.
("I have plenty of time. How about I experience traveling like a person?") [Solace]
That's what I thought, but I got hungry after walking for hours.

I can't even begin to tell you how tempted I was to turn back into a spirit. However, my pride didn't allow it.
("I'll have to find some food. Maybe I can hunt a monster or animal and eat it.") [Solace]
I checked the map Master handed me before moving on.
("There's a forest about thirty minutes from here. Maybe I can forage something there.") [Solace]
It was a slight detour, but I really didn't care. I walked for thirty minutes to find that forest, which eventually led me to getting some berries.
("Yes! Food!") [Solace]
I found a bush with red berries, which was ironic since they looked and tasted just like blueberries.

I stopped and took a look at the berries.

I filled myself up to the point where I wasn't feeling really hungry, yet I still wanted something more... fleshier. I mean meat if you didn't get where I was going with this.

As a city boy myself, I had never gone on a hunt in my entire life. The only thing I had to fall back on were television shows about survival.

I searched the forest floor, looking for something resembling animal footprints. At some point, I managed to find one.
("...I think I'll pass on this one.") [Solace]
There was a large bear-like footprint. However, its largeness was actually a footprint that resembled the size of a comically large clown shoe.
("Whatever it belongs to, I hope I don't end up encountering it.") [Solace]
I snuck around the forest for about twenty-something minutes after that.
("Oh, I think I hear something.") [Solace]
I heard a loud roar and thunderous footsteps. Moments later, chaos ensued.
("Uh oh.") [Solace]
The sound of trees falling and crashing quickly came over. Within an instant I saw a giant monster come flying out.

Hardening my body, I leapt backwards to soften the blow.
"Guh...!" [Solace]
I fell along with the monster. The impact knocked the air out of me, but I was still fine.

I looked at the monster's features, which resembled a giant version of a komodo dragon. The only difference was its skin was hard as iron and its fangs seemed to be laced with a purple liquid.
("It's... injured?") [Solace]
It appeared to have taken a beating before flying into me, which probably meant something scarier was coming.

I somehow managed to crawl out from underneath, and attempted to run. Keyword: attempted.

There was so much going on that I couldn't even check my surroundings, therefore leading to me bumping into something.
"Hm? A person?" [???]
I looked up to see a man wearing shackles around his neck, wrists, and ankles. Though those stuck out alot, what stuck out more was the tattoos that went from his right arm up to his neck.
