The two of them looked at each other; Ye Shaoting didn’t feel the imagined awkwardness, nor did Zuo Qing feel ashamed or annoyed.
Zuo Qing thought for a moment, feeling she should say something.
"Why did you come back today."
"Because it’s a holiday."
Such a simple reason.
"Are you staying here tonight?" Zuo Qing asked again.
Ye Shaoting looked at her, his mind involuntarily recalling the beautiful scene he just witnessed in the bathroom.
"If not here, then where?"
There was freshly brewed tea on the coffee table, Ye Shaoting poured himself a cup, thought for a moment, then handed it to Zuo Qing: "Want some?"
Zuo Qing glanced at him, relieved that he didn’t continue mentioning that awkward matter, and reached out to take the cup he handed over.
Her pale, tender fingers grasped the teacup. Ye Shaoting lowered his gaze, his well-defined fingers slowly retracted, and just as Zuo Qing held the cup entirely, he turned to grasp her hand.
A girl’s hand is quite different from a boy’s.
Ye Shaoting unconsciously licked his lips.
When touched by him, Zuo Qing’s long lashes lightly trembled, and she looked up at him: "If you want to drink, keep it for yourself."
Ye Shaoting naturally let go of her hand, his gaze brushed over her, pulling out a faint smile: "You drink."
Zuo Qing raised her hand, splashed tea onto his face: "I think you want it more."
The still-warm tea started dripping down from his forehead. Ye Shaoting had already closed his eyes the instant she splashed it.
After she finished splashing, he opened his eyes helplessly, stylishly swept his hair back.
"Is this settling scores after autumn?"
Zuo Qing pursed her lips, knowing she acted impulsively; their relationship was that of a couple now, being seen by him seemed fine.
"Wipe it off." She handed him a handkerchief, not sincerely apologizing: "I’m sorry."
The usually gentle young lady, at this moment, carried a hint of anger.
Ye Shaoting looked at the girl opposite, clearly angry, yet trying hard to speak kindly, feeling a slight amusement.
This girl isn’t honest at all.
He leisurely took the handkerchief Zuo Qing handed over, casually wiped his face, then tossed the handkerchief aside.
"Have you eaten?" he asked her.
Zuo Qing shook her head: "It’s still early, no."
"Alright, let’s go grocery shopping, I’ll cook tonight." Ye Shaoting decided, intending to capture this young lady’s heart.
"You cook?" Zuo Qing looked at him doubtfully: "Can you actually do it?"
"I can barely manage, but surely not as good as your niece’s cooking."
Zuo Qing knew he was talking about Niannian.
Thinking to herself, Niannian is a pro in cooking, how could he compare?
Seeing his still dripping forehead, Zuo Qing lowered her head, unable to hide her smile.
Their way of interacting seems quite different from normal people.
She splashed his face with tea water; a normal man would have been angry long ago, instead of thinking of making dinner for her.
She wasn’t confident yet, that Ye Shaoting would quickly fall for her.
Ye Shaoting clicked his tongue, nudged her calf with his foot: "I saw you laughing."
"Oh, then I won’t laugh."
Zuo Qing raised her head, her delicate face filled with a smile, her watery eyes like the brightest stars in the night sky.
Such a simple, clean smile made Ye Shaoting lose himself for a moment.
He stood in front of her, hand on his hip, blew his hair, and for the first time in his life felt joy radiating from his heart when facing a woman.
