The trip back from the south went smoothly.
Han Xinyan didn’t return directly to Sanyuan City, but got off the train at the provincial capital instead.
After getting off the train, she spent a day figuring out several places where she could sell goods and their prices. After all, with so much stock, she couldn’t handle it all by herself.
What she didn’t expect was that the profit was indeed substantial. After all, her goods only had the cost of purchase, no transportation costs.
In just over ten days, she’d sold all the goods she had brought in, making a net profit of over thirty thousand. Looking at the cash piled up in the bamboo loft, it still felt somewhat unreal.
She originally thought of going back to the Mechanical Factory for a visit, but considering that the notification letter hadn’t arrived yet, going back didn’t seem meaningful. Anyway, the introduction letter was issued for a long enough period.
With such high profits, she thought she might as well make a few more trips. She planned to return once before school started, to vacate the house and collect the acceptance letter, and deal with the paperwork then.
However, she still decided to make a call to He Jinxuan out of conscience: "Hello, could you please put Director He on the line."
When she called, He Jinxuan was just returning from outside, it was perfect timing. A colleague who answered the phone shouted, "Director, you’ve got a call."
He Jinxuan, walking towards the office, asked, "Who is it?"
The colleague made a face, "It’s a lady."
Upon hearing it was a lady, He Jinxuan hastened his pace, thinking it must be that inconsiderate little girl. It’s been days, and she hadn’t even called to say she was safe: "Hello, is it Yanyan?"
Han Xinyan, hearing his question, laughed and awkwardly touched her nose, "Yes, it’s me."
Hearing her voice, He Jinxuan finally relaxed, "How did things go?"
Xinyan, a bit embarrassed, replied, "No leads yet. But, regardless, I’ll return before the term starts."

Xinyan laughed, "Thanks, I heard from my dad a few days ago."
Hearing this, he felt a bit envious, but since her family must have heard earlier, he was somewhat relieved.
However, thinking of her returning so late dampened his mood. He originally wanted to nurture their feelings during this time, but now it seemed that might not happen: "Take care of yourself out there, no need to worry about things here. I’ll keep your acceptance letter for you as soon as it arrives."
Yu Xinyan noticed the change in his mood, "I’ll return a few days earlier. Make some time then to go hiking with me."

Upon hearing himself included in her plans, He Jinxuan instantly became energetic again, "Alright, I won’t take a day off this week. When you come back, I’ll make time for you."
As soon as he said this, his colleagues, who had been listening intently while pretending to work diligently, all turned to look at him in disbelief, thinking: Oh my, is this really the same Director who views women as wolves?
The group exchanged glances. It turns out that an old man in love could really be dedicated. But after thinking, it’s understandable. He was much older than her, and she was about to enter college, so he had to make a good impression.
Afterward, the way everyone looked at the Director changed again, now with sympathy.
