Han Jingchen glanced at the world outside the window: "It’s freezing cold, how did you come over, no classes today?"
Xinyan held the cup of water her dad handed over: "I took leave for something, missed you, and thought I’d drop by."
Han Jingchen didn’t worry at all about his daughter’s studies; he knew she had it all figured out. Now his mind was filled with her words, ’missed you.’
For some reason, his eyes welled up.
Xinyan saw his expression: "Dad, are you touched by your little cotton-padded jacket?"
Han Jingchen cooperatively said: "You’re right, dad is really touched."
Father and daughter exchanged smiles.
After drinking a cup of hot water, Xinyan warmed up and placed the bag she had brought on the coffee table: "Dad, I knitted you a scarf, see if you like it."
As she said it, she took it out of the bag.
Han Jingchen was even more moved, reaching out to take the scarf: "Thank you, young lady. The color of this scarf is really nice, dad likes it a lot."
Xinyan pretended to be angry: "You mean I didn’t knit it well?"
Han Jingchen quickly explained: "It’s knitted very well. I just haven’t gotten around to saying it yet. I’ll wear it after work."
Just as father and daughter were talking, they heard someone at the door saying: "Wear what?"
In came Yue Yiming, when he saw people in the room, he paused for a moment, hesitant to speak rashly, just looking at Han Jingchen.
Han Jingchen proudly said: "Yanyan, let me introduce you, this is your Uncle Yue, the party committee secretary of our railway bureau."
Xinyan looked at the visitor and called sweetly: "Hello, Uncle Yue."
Upon hearing the introduction, Yue Yiming’s eyes lit up: "Jingchen, you’re really blessed, your daughter looks like a fairy."
Then he smiled at Xinyan: "Yanyan, right? I often hear your dad talk about you, today’s the day I finally get to meet you."
After a few polite exchanges, Xinyan spoke up: "Dad, you talk about work first, I’ll take a stroll outside."
Han Jingchen knew that Yue Yiming was definitely here for business and felt gratified by how considerate and sensible his daughter was: "Alright, dad will find you after finishing work."
If it weren’t for something significant, Yue Yiming wouldn’t want to disturb the father and daughter’s time together.
After Xinyan left, he quickly spoke about the important matter and once done: "What do you think about this issue?"
Han Jingchen lightly tapped his fingers on the office desk: "It’s indeed tricky, but regardless, we have to get it done before the regulated construction start date. Let’s form a work team first; they don’t need to manage other things, just handle the land compensation matter, and ensure it’s properly dealt with before construction starts.
If necessary, we can promise them some job opportunities. After all, once the freight yard is built, it will require hiring."
Yue Yiming nodded: "Alright, then I’ll meet with them again, and we’ll hold a meeting tomorrow morning once everyone’s present to decide on the work team members."
After getting the business settled, as Yue Yiming was about to leave: "Jingchen, have you really not considered a match between our children?"
Han Jingchen casually tossed the book by his side, Yue Yiming grabbed the bag on the coffee table to block it, but couldn’t hold it steady, and the oranges inside rolled out: "Whoa, these oranges are really fresh, brought by our young lady?"
Han Jingchen saw the oranges scattered on the ground, quickly came out from behind his desk: "These were brought by my daughter, don’t think you can take advantage."
