Meng Yunhan said with a smile, “If I get into university, I won’t have to pay tuition fees, and the school will even give me a living allowance every month.”
At these words, both Mother Yun and Yun Men were stunned, their mouths dropped open in surprise. They hadn’t expected that attending university would come with a monthly allowance and no tuition fees. How could such good things happen?
They must have heard wrong, right?
“How could that possible, sister-in-law?” Yun Men asked.
Meng Yunhan gave a faint smile, “It’s true. No tuition fees and also a monthly allowance.”
Mother Yun had been worrying about living expenses and tuition fees just last night, and now someone had solved her problem. Not only was she told there would be no tuition fees, but there would also be a living allowance given by the school.
This unbelievable thing actually happened.
Yun Men was genuinely happy for Meng Yunhan, “This is so great, sister-in-law. No tuition fee and even a living allowance too. It couldn’t be better.”
Little Zhuzi didn’t know what going to college meant. He just picked up something to eat and started munching.
He was also planning to feed his crawling sibling, Little Huzi.

When Mother Yun turned around, she saw her grandson crawling all over the bed, moving quite efficiently.
Little Huzi glanced at Meng Yunhan and continued crawling, causing her to feel both amused and helpless.
Meng Yunhan reached out and picked up Little Huzi, saying as she sat up, “He loves to crawl and is very brave too.”
“Sister-in-law, when you go to university, will you also take Little Huzi with you?”
Meng Yunhan crisply answered, “Yes, I’ll take Little Huzi with me. The school officials understand the situation of us ‘educated youths’ like myself and allow us to bring our children to school.”
Neither Mother Yun nor Yun Men understood much about the educational system since they had merely heard that university admissions exam was being restored, so they were unclear about the requirements for studying at university.
Meng Yunhan would never leave her child behind in her hometown to study alone. It would be more reassuring to bring the child with her.
Even though it might be a bit more tiring and tears might be shed, compared to the longing she would feel otherwise, she would be a lot happier.
She would never let Little Huzi become a left-behind child.
Life for left-behind children was very tough.
In her previous life, she had come across a village while doing charity work. In that village, all the young adults had migrated to work elsewhere, leaving behind only the elderly and children.

Indeed, the world of children is simple.
As children, they looked forward to the New Year because they could wear new clothes, eat snacks, and most importantly, they could be with their parents.
She remembered some parents, who were unable to buy a train ticket to go home for the New Year, and had to ride a motorcycle back home instead.
Even though they had to traverse several provinces, bearing the cold, they rode for several days just to get home for the New Year, to see their children and the elderly.
“That’s great. That’s really great,” Yun Men said, forcing out a smile after glancing at her mother.
Of course, she knew her mother wanted to keep Little Huzi under her care, but the child should be better off with his mother.
“It’s getting late. I need to cook,” Yun Men said, remembering the advice her older sister gave her last time when trying to persuade their mother.
