Reborn in the Survival Adventure Game Chapter 104

The guild hall was louder than usual.

Wooden tables were filled with villagers eating, laughing, polishing their weapons. Since the guild opened, everything had changed. There were quests pinned on the wall. Monster bounties. Delivery jobs. Even requests from other villages for help.

Some villagers were still Bronze rank, others had earned Copper or even Iron. The newest update was the skill system—skills could now be learned just by doing things.

Garin had explained it at the last town hall.

"If you farm, you unlock Farming. Fight? You'll unlock Sword or Archery. You don't need books or scrolls anymore."

It lit a fire in people. They trained harder. Practiced daily. The once-shy blacksmith's apprentice now had Hammer Mastery Level 2. A baker unlocked Fire Magic by accident while lighting his oven with too much mana.

Today, a new class opened: Guild Training Grounds.

A young girl named Teya stood in the center of the training ring. She held a wooden sword, shaking slightly.

"Okay," said Borin, watching from the side. "You've been practicing footwork. Let's test it."

Teya stepped forward and swung.

The dummy's head bounced off.

[Swordsmanship Lv. 1 unlocked]

[Stat Gained: Strength +1]

She blinked. "It worked...?"

Borin grinned. "Told you."

Other villagers clapped. More people stepped into the ring, eager to unlock something. A hunter practiced with his bow and saw:

[Archery Lv. 2 → Lv. 3]

A young goblin practiced dodging and jumping until this appeared:

[Agility Skill Gained – Quickstep Lv. 1]

The skill system had made people excited again—not just to survive, but to grow.

Caelen watched from a balcony above. Zira stood beside him, arms crossed, eyes soft.

"They're doing better," she said.

"Yeah," Caelen nodded. "Some already reached Iron rank. They're getting stronger, faster than I expected."

"I used to think humans were lazy," Zira muttered, smirking. "But maybe they just needed hope."

Caelen smiled a little.

He looked out toward the horizon, where fog hung like a curtain beyond the forest.

"The problem is," he said, "we're getting attention."

Zira blinked. "From who?"

That night, beyond the eastern forest, shadows gathered.

A man in a dark hood crouched beside a rock, watching the village lights in the distance.

"They're building fast," he muttered. "Humans, goblins, elves... all in one place."

Behind him, three other figures stood.

"They've got drills, golems, magic, guilds..." said a second voice, annoyed. "And that damn town bell we can hear from here."

The leader of the group—tall, cloaked in black—turned to them. His eyes glowed faintly red.

"We wait. We watch."

A fourth figure, smaller than the others, whispered, "What if they get too strong?"

The leader smiled coldly.

"Then we break them."

Back in the village, a class was wrapping up. The new teacher—an elf named Relin—had started a spellcasting course.

"Magic works differently here," he explained. "There's no school. You learn by doing. Use fire, you'll get Fire Magic. Use healing, you'll get that. But be careful. Some magics... change you."

He looked at his hand, faintly burned.

A few villagers raised their hands. One asked, "What about summoning?"

Another: "Can we learn light magic?"

Relin nodded. "Yes. But you must practice carefully."

One boy, eager, tried casting fire with too much mana. He blew a hole in the dirt wall.

[Fire Magic Lv. 1 unlocked]

[Mana Control Lv. 1 unlocked]

[Minor Burn -10 HP]

Relin laughed and helped him up. "At least it worked."

Caelen walked back to his house after a long day, passing by the glowing windows of the guild and new shops.

He paused to look at the stars.

The Forgotten Forest wasn't just a forest. It was a continent. One part of a massive world. Ten human kingdoms. A demon continent. Floating islands. Dragons. Vampires. Angels.

He had started in the most dangerous place.

"Jeff," he muttered, "you threw me in the deep end."

[Main Quest: Conquer the Forgotten Forest]

[Progress: 1%]

Only 1%.

And yet, the village was alive.

He smiled.

The next morning, villagers were lined up in front of the guild again.

Some turned in slime cores. Others collected rewards. A girl turned in her boar tusks and jumped in joy when she got her first Silver Coin.

Tilo ran past with Blob on his head. "They posted a new quest!"

"Another boar?"

"Nope—giant rats near the wheat storage!"

A few older goblins geared up for it. A younger elf joined with a homemade spear.

Caelen passed by them.

"Be careful," he said.

"We will!" they said in unison.

He turned back to the forest edge.

Somewhere out there, enemies were watching.

But his people were growing.

One skill, one quest, one step at a time.
