Lisa covered her face, exclaiming incredulously, "You dare hit me, you little brat! You actually dare hit me!"
Amelia Wright took out a tissue to wipe her hands, and said calmly, "Why, do you want to hit back here at the Wright family gates?"
Lisa was so furious that her lips trembled, "You... you..."
Amelia let out a sarcastic laugh. Of course, Lisa wouldn’t dare hit back outside, after all, the outside world believed that the Wright family was generous and raised their adopted daughter with loving care.
Amelia said nonchalantly, "Let’s go, don’t let Mrs. Wright wait too long."
With that, Amelia stepped through the back door into the Wright family estate.
She was walking towards hell...
Lisa stood there dumbfounded for quite a while, before wildly spitting, "This infuriates me, it just infuriates me, wait until you step inside the Wright house and see how the madam punishes you!"
In her rage, Lisa didn’t even notice that Amelia called her foster mother Mrs. Wright, not ’mother’.
Amelia entered through the back door, just stepping into the side hall.
An ashtray flew towards her face.
Amelia dodged to the side, looking at her foster mother, Bess Bennett, sitting on the couch.
Upon rebirth, she confronted her first enemy.
She seemed to see Bess standing in front of her gravely ill mother, taunting loudly. "Do you think your precious daughter has been living well all these years? She’s been beaten every day and eats leftovers. She was completely manipulated and threatened by me. I even gave her to a cripple in exchange for fame and fortune. Your daughter, I’ve raised her to be a dog stepped upon by everyone!"
Her sick mother, burdened with boundless regret, was driven to her death by anger.
When she rushed over, all she saw in the hospital room was shocking blood and the face of Bess, which made her want to tear it apart.
Amelia’s fingertips trembled slightly.
No one knew how much effort she exerted right now to contain her madness.
She couldn’t lose control, she couldn’t!
It was just Bess, she wanted revenge on everyone!
She had to proceed step by step, slowly...
Bess, seeing Amelia dodge, immediately spat in a cutting tone, "Who let you dress , looking so embarrassing? Get back to your old self. Supposedly, it’s just a fake marriage, and you dare not to answer my calls. Are you defying me?"
Bess looked at Amelia’s face in surprise and anger. This little brat normally dressed like a country bumpkin these past years, and now upon seeing her, she actually resembled that woman seven parts out of ten, which instinctively made Bess want to destroy that face.
Amelia masked her hostility with a smile, a grin so intense that it seemed a bit sinister.
She gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and said, "Embarrassing, you say? But, Young Master Shaw prefers me this way, what should I do?"
Hearing that Young Master Shaw liked it, Bess’s eyes shone a bit, "What did you say? Young Master Shaw likes your face ? Then perhaps he doesn’t mind the fake marriage, at least you have some use."
Amelia nodded, the Shaw family indeed didn’t mind.
But when the day comes that Ava Wright finds out that she married the very Young Master Shaw she has always dreamed of, she hopes Ava won’t mind either.
Bess continued on ignoring her, "The Wright Corporation is short on money now, give me your necklace. After all these years, your biological parents might be dead, don’t think you can find them with that necklace. The Wright family is in a tough situation now, if you stand by coldly and refuse, I’ll kick you out of the Wright family, sever the adoption relation!"
Bess knew the gemstone on that necklace was valuable, this time, she’d take the necklace at all costs.
This brat feared nothing more than being kicked out, using this threat was most effective.
Amelia squinted a bit as if readily agreeing, "Sure."
Bess beamed with joy, as expected of a lowly thing; she wouldn’t hand it over if discussed normally but required threats. She extended her hand with bright red nails painted, "Hand it over."
Amelia casually replied, "I gave the necklace to Young Master Shaw, if you want it, go ask him for it!"
The former Amelia truly feared being kicked out.
But now, the reborn Amelia, her first immediacy, was to sever the adoption relation!
She wanted to stop the Wright family from using her to harm her true relatives.
Bess’s smile stiffened, her voice turned sharp in rage, "Alright, you little brat, you’re really defying me now! I asked for that necklace countless times, and you gave it to the Shaw family! You think marrying into the Shaw family means I can’t do anything to you? There are plenty of ways to torment without leaving marks. Joy, lock her in the dog house!"
