Ruby halted in her tracks and looked at Ella from above her shoulder wordlessly.
Ella’s eyes teared up, her fingers trembled a little.
Seeing that she did not say anything, the woman turned to leave.
’’Wait... Congrats on your engagement!" To stop her from leaving, Ella blurted the first thing that came to her mind.
Ruby’s face turned icier at her words. Without sparing a word at Ella, she turned around and left.

Adrian leaned back on the couch, a lazy glint flickered in his eyes as he aimlessly gazed at the empty living room.
His gaze inadvertently shifted to the couch, the television, the kitchen in the distance, the stairs, the dining table and even the puppy in Ji Yan’s hand.
And then, Adrian’s face chilled by a few degrees.
Ji Yan shivered a little. This... Clearing his throat, he opened his mouth, ’’Second master, Miss Yu must be missing you too.’’
Adrian quietly glanced at the phone that was lying idly on the coffee table, its screen dark and his eyes darkened.
Ji Yan gritted his teeth. Miss Yu, ah, Miss Yu, it hasn’t been hours since you left but you are acting like you have forgotten all about the second master ah! Can’t you send him a single text to appease him at least?
Looking at the man who was sitting like a ’looking calm, stirring storm’ devil king, Ji Yan dabbed his flowery handkerchief on his sweaty forehead nervously, ’’That... She had quite a long day so she is probably resting.’’

Adrian’s brows tugged together. He glanced at the empty chair on the dining table right beside the head chair, ’’Did she eat?"

But Adrian’s expressions not only did not improve but rather, it worsened.
His presence became suffocating, a thundercloud ready to unleash its wrath at the slightest provocation.
At this moment, the phone on the coffee table buzzed.
Ji Yan’s heart nearly jumped to his throat. The last time the second master’s phone had buzzed in such an ominous time was a week ago.
He had come out of the room after a broken sleep and he was in a terrible mood but then he could not find Ella anywhere in the mansion. Right at that time, Esther’s message had popped up, triggering the man even further.
Ji Yan held his breath and prayed that this better not be that troublemaker of a woman, appearing here to stir up more trouble.
