The giant, like a kite with its string cut, fell from the high platform. His shoulder brushed against the smooth ground, emitting a sharp scraping sound as he tumbled several times before finally coming to a complete stop.
He lay on the ground, looking bewilderedly at his own fist.
He didn’t mean to hit the face; the boss doesn’t like it.

Why didn’t the boss dodge?
Pondering led to no answers.
Without thinking, he got up from the ground, dusted off his clothing, and walked to the side. He picked up a glass water bottle, small like a toy, pried off the metal cap with his bare hands, and gulped down several mouthfuls until the flow of water abruptly stopped.
He shook the bottle up and down; not a drop was left. He then effortlessly twisted open another bottle, his indifferent gaze slightly unfocused.
Next time I’ll go out and crush a few dogs from the X organization for fun.
The size difference was too great, making the scene somewhat shocking.

Yet the people from the Triad Society around her were all calm, as if this was normal for them.

With a hoarse voice, he said,
"Xu Si, you’re late. I got hit; it hurts a lot."
After saying that, Pei Zhen raised his robust right hand. It bore a ring of purple bruising—a trace left by the giant’s punch that had struck him, looking very painful.
A faint scent of flowers inexplicably wafted through the air. It was elegant in tone but intense in fragrance.
Xu Si came back to her senses. Her gaze shifted to the bruise on his arm and to his entire demeanor—intentionally acting weak but actually strong and cunning. She ultimately softened.
His enchanting eyes looked down.
Even if it was pretense, it was still pitiable.
"Sorry, I lost track of time during the meeting,"
Xu Si responded, reaching out to touch around the bruise with her fingertips, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.
Once again, she extended her hand to him.
"Does it hurt? Let’s go. Come with me, and I’ll apply some medicine for you."
Pei Zhen looked at her eyes, clear as a tranquil lake and brimming with heartfelt concern for him.
Contentedly, he curved his lips into a slight smile and followed behind her.
This world was still too cold.
He really wanted to keep her with him forever, even if it meant by deception.
On the way, Pei Zhen fully draped his clothes over himself. This hid the ghastly tattoos on his back and the healing wound on his chest, as if concealing the evil he brought from the Underground City.
He led Xu Si to his room and opened the door.
Xu Si walked in and surveyed the room.
It was what you’d expect from a hotel, suggesting he really didn’t come to Hong Kong Island often, not even having a temporary residence.
The only thing out of the ordinary was the long gun on his table. It was a model she had seen before; during the Sanlian Chamber of Commerce banquet, he had stood at the edge of the ship’s deck, pointing that same long gun at her forehead.
Her mouth twitched. She turned around, then paused, momentarily stunned.
