Regression of the Genius Extra Chapter 23

Chapter 23: Chapter: 23, Temporary Guide

Chapter: 23, Gotcha!!

The cave was dark and filled with silence. There in the middle of that said darkness, a woman in green skin was trembling all over as she looked at the handsome youth who she had never met before in horror.

The young man suddenly had a look of disappointment in his face but he quickly concealed it. He then looked around the cave to find nothing of value.

He then looked at the green haired girl lying over the dead body of the rat lord. Gura stiffened with fear as his eyes locked into hers. She felt the looming fear of death as she readied herself for her demise.

"Come on, stand up. Are you going to stay there for the rest of your life?" The voice of the young man came into her ears. ’What does he mean by that? Does that mean he will not kill me?’ she thought and relaxed a little.

"Now guide me to the place you came from." The man again said his voice was a bit gentle.

"W-what do you mean?" Gura finally asked. It was the first time she opened her mouth after Dain appeared.

Dain smiled, "Guess you can finally talk. Don’t worry; I won’t hurt you if you simply become my guide."

"O-Okay." She agreed. She was afraid that if she didn’t agree to him, she wouldn’t be able to stay alive for long. Someone who could defeat her companions so easily could also kill her anytime he wants.

"So, what’s your name?" Dain asked.

"G-Gura" She answered hesitantly.

Dainsleif nodded and smiled, "Quite a cute name. I am Dainsleif; you can call me Dain for short."

Gura nodded. She couldn’t understand why this strong monster was acting as if they were friends.

Dain was actually acting like that because that was his nature. He was like that, he killed the latter’s companions but still respected the other and expected the other to be friendly.

It sure looks hypocritical to think like that but what else can the other do? I mean even if you want revenge for your companions, you are too weak to do that and you have no choice but to be friendly to your enemy.

"Follow me" he said softly as he began to walk towards the stairs to the next floor. Gura slowly got up, her legs still shaking but she endured and started to follow.

**

On the seventh floor, Dain didn’t linger for much time and directly went to the eighth floor.

There, he saw the ceiling was much higher than before. As he walked ahead, he saw a group of inferior goblins form a team to wander around.

He quickly killed them and walked away. Gura looked at the inferior race with contempt and disdain in her eyes. She as a superior race always saw these inferior races as the cursed ones.

Why would they, a beautiful race of people, share the bloodline of the goblin king with these insignificant, mindless, disgusting and lowly creatures?

Not only had she, but every race who lived above the tenth floor disdained their inferior species to the bones. None of them looked at them as their own.

The goblins are the only ones who have a means of transportation that they use to groom their next clan leader. Otherwise, every other race would have come to the lower floors to finish those inferior races with their own hands to save them from embarrassment.

She ignored the bodies of the disgusting creature in front of her eyes and followed behind Dain. After some more time walking. Dain finally saw the old scene of a tribe base. Goblins were roaming the surrounding area around the camp.

A foul stench wafted around the surrounding area, entering his nose as he quickly held his breath and covered his mouth with his hand. It was still unbearable even after so much time’ he thought. The time he spent here before... most of the time vomiting because of the unbearable stench.

These lesser goblins were nothing but mindless, having no sense of hygiene. Because of it, most of the offspring of these goblins are born weak with half dying because of it.

Gura looked at the scene with utter disgust. While on the other hand, Dain imagined himself to not smell anything, which didn’t deplete any charge of the skill. He walked normally while Gura struggled to follow him.

He quickly helped her and Gura also sighed in relief. She could finally breathe without smelling the foul stench. She was wondering just how strong Dain might be if he could cast spells without physical contact.

Spells might sound like Skills but they are completely different from Skills. Skills are something that you learn or have from birth. Once you have them, you can never forget and can increase your mastery over the skill.

But spells that derive from the job, Sorcery. It is a natural way of magic that cannot be used like skills. To cast spells, you need to learn sorcery for many years and learn the laws of the world and use your own sorcery to manipulate the laws.

Sorcery also has large varieties unlike the skills. Skills can also be called a permanent Spell. Like a spell that can be learned by everyone but it is just how it was created. Like you can’t edit or use the skills by your own way, while on the other hand, Sorcery is a blank sheet where our imagination runs wild.

You can use the Sorcery to create any skills you want and even in your own way. Like thunder that strikes down from the sky? How about a vertical Thunder that manifests in a vertical position.

Or how about a ball made out of water covered in fire, or how about a fire that is cold or a solid air and something like liquid wood. Everything is possible with Sorcery. It is also as difficult to learn as it sounds cool.

Even a thousand years might pass without even being able to see or even sense the laws of the world. Only people who have a talent for sorcery would ever try to learn them but even then most of them would be unsuccessful.

Gura was still thinking just which level he had reached in Sorcery when she suddenly bumped into Dain’s back.

Dain looked back at her and said, "Wait here, I’ll be here after clearing these goblins."

With those worlds, Dain disappeared from her sight.
