Chapter 40: Chapter 38: Political Conversation
"So I ask you, Supreme Rulers... if power alone makes a god, then what does that make you? A king without a throne is just another man. But even without my power... I will still be me. And that is something you can never take away."
As I said that, they looked at me with serious and angry expressions.
But I spoke again.
"If you ask me... then you all are nothing but some fucking morons," I said in a serious and cold tone.
As I said that, Eli looked at me with rage and screamed,
"How dare you talk about the Supreme Rulers like that!" She flapped her wings and dashed toward me at high speed.
I stood there silently, but before she could reach me, Gearor vanished and appeared in front of me, holding a small knife. In an instant, Eli fell to the ground, completely shocked. She hadn't even noticed yet, but her wings had already been cut.
"Wh-what?!" she gasped in shock.
The knife vanished from Gearor's hand as he spoke.
"My apologies, but I will not stand still if you are trying to harm my lord," he said, giving a cold glare to the Supremes.
Eli vanished and reappeared in Mira's hand.
Mira looked at Gearor in rage and screamed,
"And who do you think you are, you nobody! Attacking the familiar of the Supreme?!"
Gearor turned around and stood beside me, replying in a confident voice,
"I am also a familiar of my lord."
"Damned you!" Mira's eyes widened in rage.
"Sir Gaizon, can I kill him?" she said while looking at the man sitting in the middle.
Gaizon glared at us with anger, but suddenly, the man sitting on the left spoke in a calm voice.
"Now, now... cool down, everyone. There is no need to fight."
Mira turned to him and protested,
"B-but Shiro! He harmed my little Eli!"
"Well, she was the one who attacked first," Shiro replied firmly.
Mira couldn't argue back and fell silent.
"Miss Sumi Hana, was it?" Shiro said while looking at me.
I stared at him coldly but said nothing.
"You are a demi-human, aren't you?" he asked confidently.
Gaizon and Mira looked at him in confusion.
"Oh? You can tell?" I replied with a mocking tone.
"Yeah, it's my ability," he answered softly.
I smirked and said,
"Ability, huh? I wonder... is that really an ability a human should have?"
As I said that, he fell silent.
"So you're not even human!" Gaizon exclaimed.
"Yes, and I'm proud of it," I said confidently.
Gaizon looked at me with rage but didn't say anything.
"Damn you!!!" Mira shouted in anger. But suddenly, Shiro spoke again.
"Well, we get it... You are a god to them, and we are Supreme Rulers to them. So in a way, we are the same..."
Gaizon and Mira turned to him as he continued.
"Since you are willing to continue this path, why don't we talk about Paradise Garden?"
I looked at him and replied in a cold tone,
"Talk about what?"
"Well, you know, since you are the queen of the country, you should understand the rules of running an economy," he said.
Suddenly, a chair made of red cloth and black wood appeared behind me. I glanced at it before sitting down and said,
"Yes, I know. I have read some political and economic books from Steller Kingdom."
"Oh? And how do you plan to run the country?" Shiro asked.
"I am going to make it tax-free," I replied.
As soon as I said that, all three of them looked shocked.
"What? Tax-free?!" Gaizon gasped.
"That's what I thought at first," I continued.
"If I do that, then the population of people from outside who want to settle there will increase at an extreme rate. So I am thinking of setting a suitable tax rate."
Gaizon looked at me and said,
"But still, people believe that you are a god, and they will try to move to Paradise Garden just to be under your rule."
I smiled and replied,
"I know that, so I will do this,.... The tax rate will be higher for people who come from outside."
Gaizon nodded, understanding my point.
"I see..."
"And what about tourists who will visit? They won't have to pay taxes, so their numbers will be overwhelming," Shiro pointed out.
I looked at him and smiled.
"I already have a solution for that," I said.
They waited for my answer, and I spoke.
"I will introduce a system called the Passport System."
"Passport System?" Gaizon asked in confusion.
"Yes, it will be a document for individuals who wish to visit Paradise Garden. They must meet certain requirements to obtain this passport, and only those who have it will be allowed to enter the country," I explained.
They fell silent, deep in thought.
"That's.....smart..." Gaizon admitted.
"Well then, how about the facilities you will provide to the citizens?" Shiro asked.
"Paradise Garden isn't fully developed yet, but I have many plans for the future. From education and healthcare to transportation and trade," I replied.
As i said that Shiro said Gaizon started thinking
"Hmm... We didn't expect it, but you do have knowledge of politics and governance," Shiro said.
(My past life knowledge is coming in handy here...) I thought to myself.
Gaizon huffed and said,
"And all this... coming from a kid..."
I smiled, but Mira's eyes still burned with rage.
Behind me, Gearor stood silently, looking at me in shock and surprise.
"Well, let's end our conversation here for today," Shiro said.
I slowly stood up and said,
"Thanks for inviting me. I'm grateful that I didn't come here just to listen to your shit talk."
They all looked at me with serious expressions, while Mira seemed even angrier.
"Well then, thanks for having us," I said.
Then suddenly, Gearor and I vanished.
Gaizon and Shiro stood up.
Gaizon huffed and said,
"Looks like she isn't just someone with strong magic and power."
Shiro chuckled.
"Look who's talking after insulting her since the beginning."
Gaizon gave an awkward smile before turning around and saying,
"Mira, are you coming?"
But Mira remained seated, her face filled with anger and rage.
