Chapter 61: Chapter 59: A Family
Gaizon, in surprise, looked up. He rolled the chains on his fist, then punched and destroyed the water ball.
Shiro continued laughing, then he said:
"Well, that’s the Head Supreme for ya! HaHaHaHa! Well then... let’s see how long will you last."
Mira used her strength and broke the chains, freeing her hand. Gaizon looked surprised, and in his mind, he said
("Since when did Mira become this strong?!")
Then Mira raised her hand. A spinning silver slash attack launched from her palm. Gaizon raised his hand and created a magic barrier, but the attack broke through it. Gaizon barely dodged the attack, but right after that, from above, Eli used her magic and created a huge wind ball and launched it at him. The pressure of the wind pushed Gaizon with such strong force that he was stuck where he stood. Then, from the side, Mira appeared, looking at him with an emotionless expression. She raised both hands, and multiple slashing attacks launched toward Gaizon.
Gaizon was unable to move, which caused him to get hit by the attack. Both his hands, one leg, and his chest were cut off. He fell down, bleeding badly.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Shiro laughed loudly, then said:
"Hey hey Gaizon, what happened? Are you done already?"
Gaizon, bleeding badly, slowly looked up at him, gritting his teeth. Then Gaizon said in a shaky voice
"Why....."
Shiro laughed and put his hand on his ear. In a mocking tone, he said
"Huh??? What did you say? I didn’t hear?"
Then Gaizon screamed and said:
"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS!!!!!!!"
"Was Mira’s love not enough for you?! Tell me, you bastard! Why are you doing this to us?! Aren’t we a family?!"
As he said that, Shiro’s mind flashed back to a moment when the three of them were sitting together in a dining hall, eating. Then he remembered a moment on the beach. He remembered how Mira always cared for them, even though she acted cold. Then he remembered something Mira once told him
"Hey Shiro... after we are done with all this, will you come with me and Sir Gaizon and live somewhere far away... together as a family?"
Shiro looked at her and replied
"Huh... sure... but why are you asking this out of nowhere?"
Mira smiled and replied
"It’s a secret. I’ll tell you when the time comes."
When his mind remembered all of this, he gritted his teeth. Then Gaizon screamed again and said
"Aren’t you like a big brother to her?! The one who swore to always protect her no matter what?! So whyyyyyy?!"
Shiro’s mind flashed back again to a moment when the three were sitting on their thrones, talking.
Mira said
"It’s so hard to go outside... this place..."
Then Gaizon looked at her and replied:
"Well yeah... some want to kill us and take the place of Supreme. Some want to fight us..."
Mira huffed and said
"Why is it so hard for us? Even though we are the highest-ranking people..."
Then Gaizon replied:
"We are the highest, so people are trying to climb up to our place..."
Shiro, who was sitting beside them, spoke
"Why are you all talking like you’re some kind of weak people? Remember, we are Supreme because of our powers..."
Then Mira looked at him and replied
"Well yeah, but I’m not as strong as you guys, so if someone stronger comes to me, then I’m dead..."
Then Shiro replied
"Well then, I’ll protect you."
Mira, shocked, replied
"Huh?? What??"
Shiro replied
"I said I’ll protect you when you’re in trouble, so don’t worry."
Mira blushed a little and replied
"Ohhh, you’re acting like a big brother."
Shiro replied
"What! No I’m not!"
Then, in a mocking voice, Mira said
"Yes you are~ Big Brother Shiro~"
Shiro replied
"Stop that!"
Again, Mira said
"What happened, Big Brother Shiro~?"
Gaizon started laughing, looking at them.
As Shiro remembered all these, his head bowed a little. His hand was shaking. Then suddenly, a deep voice in his mind said
("Shiro, don’t forget your job.")
Shiro snapped out of it. Then again, a big smile appeared on his face, and he said
"That all was my plan."
Gaizon looked at him in rage and anger. Then suddenly he heard a water drop. He looked to the side and saw... there were tears in Mira’s cold eyes. Gaizon was surprised. Then suddenly, his body started to regenerate.
Shiro stood up from his throne and began walking toward Gaizon. He reached him, where Gaizon was lying on the ground, unable to move. Gaizon was looking at Mira, tears in his eyes. Then Shiro placed his hand on Gaizon’s head and said
"Well, your regeneration ability is troublesome, so I guess I have to end you here."
Gaizon looked at him in anger, then screamed
"SHIROOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
Then, in an instant, Gaizon’s whole body exploded into pieces.
Shiro slowly stood up and walked toward Mira. He put his hand on her shoulder and, with a smile, said
"Good job, Mira. Well done. You might be more useful than I imagined."
He started walking forward but stopped. In a mocking tone, he said
"You too, Eli. Do your best in protecting your master."
Eli was on Mira’s back, hanging on her hair, sobbing with tears streaming down her face. Then, in a small voice, Eli said
"Sorry... sorry... sorry... I’m very sorry..."
Shiro smiled and walked outside the room, leaving Mira and Eli alone.
Mira was still standing there silently. Then suddenly, Eli remembered the moment when she was lying in a group, tired and injured. Then Mira came to her and said
"Oh? Are you alone, little one? Why don’t you come with me? I’ll take care of you if you are alone."
She slowly picked up Eli and placed her in her hand. Eli slowly opened her eyes and saw Mira’s smiling face looking at her.
As Eli remembered all this, she grabbed her hair more tightly and started crying as hard as she could.
Shiro was walking in a dark hall, smiling. Then he said
"Now all I have to do is... get her to me."
"After that, I can become a Demon Lord. I will become more strong. Hahahahaha!"
He started laughing. Then he said
"Now I just need to command the demon army and tell them to attack her."
He raised his glowing purple eyes and said
"Sumi... I’m coming."
