As Xu Feng questioned her source of fury, Zhang Jingyi was surprised herself.
'Right, why was I so angry at him lying to me?' She wondered silently.
Throughout her life, she had been spoiled heavily by her parents and brother. No one would dare lie to her and would always attempt to ensure she wouldn't be unhappy.
Naturally, they were also very protective of her, constantly having bodyguards around her.
Even at this party, she was assigned a ton of bodyguards, who were simply being kept around the vicinity.
After all, the Zhao Family had their own security. It would have been rude for the others to bring their own bodyguards, given it would create a statement that the Zhao Family can't protect its guests.

His frankness shocked even the usually composed Zhao Xin, seemingly unable to believe what she heard.
'The Zhang Family's standing could be considered more or less the same as the Zhao. Is this courage or foolishness?' Zhao Xin wondered, feeling that Xu Feng had truly changed.
In the past, he had said similar stuff to her, but in recent events, he seemed to have changed so much that she was no longer able to predict him.
When she went to give him a car, she merely believed the latter would refuse, but he didn't. And since she was truly ready to give, she didn't put much thought into it and gifted him right away.
However, now that she thinks back about it, the Xu Feng she knew would have talked a bunch of gibberish to her before refusing it.
"Very well, I got your message loud and clear." Frustrated, Zhang Jingyi stood up and exited the private room.
As the door slammed shut, Xu Feng breathed a sigh of relief.
"Phew, a troublemaker has finally gone." He patted his chest before turning to Zhao Kai. "My bad for using your name. I didn't expect she would be at this party and nearly cause you trouble."
"Eh?" Twitching his lips, Zhao Kai was dazed and motionless.
Zhang Jingyi was not only a beautiful woman, but also one with a strong background. From a glance, it was clear that she had taken somewhat of an interest in Xu Feng, but his cold tone and frankness destroyed all kinds of possibilities.
Instead of being mad at Xu Feng for using his name, he was more impressed and could no longer look at him the same way.
"I was wrong, Brother Feng. No wonder why you said the clubs are no good." He gave him a thumbs up, referring to their previous conversation in the car.
Alas, Zhao Kai's slip of the tongue happened in the worst moment. Because of how shocked he was, he had forgotten that someone else was still in the private room.
"A club huh?" Zhao Xin smiled amicably.
"What type of club were you talking about? Care to share it with this dear sister of yours?"
"Uh oh…" Panic immediately surfaced on his expression, and like a cat got its tail stepped on, he hid behind Xu Feng, seemingly taking cover.
Unamused, Zhao Xin turned her attention to Xu Feng, clearly looking for an answer.
Normally, men in this kind of situation would act scared and only talk further into their doom, but not Xu Feng.
As an experienced person, how could he commit such an amateur mistake?
"Kai, what's wrong with you?" Xu Feng laughed amusingly. "It's just book clubs, what is there to be afraid of? Could your sister be angry at you for being at the book clubs and meeting some nice ladies?"
Enlightened, Zhao Kai hurriedly clamored. "Yeah, what's wrong with book clubs?"
Meanwhile, Zhao Xin didn't buy their explanation as she recalled Zhao Kai's words. "Didn't you mention Feng said those clubs are no good for you? In other words, he disapproved of the book clubs."
'Fuck, is she a supercomputer?' Zhao Kai cursed silently, wondering just how she could possibly remember his words so vividly.
Thankfully, Xu Feng was ready for a response. "Indeed, book clubs are not good for Kai since his brain is below average. Those women in book clubs are all sophisticated, and with Kai's insufficient knowledge, he's just going to get rejected hard.
