After digging up a small pit, Xu Feng's face and clothes were covered in dirt.
"You look ridiculous," Carmen laughed joyfully, clearly enjoying every moment of this. Tears of joy began seeping into the corner of her eyes from seeing such a rare sight of Xu Feng.
Suddenly, she had a bright idea and decided to take a selfie photo of her and him.
"Say cheese, Guild Leader!" She exclaimed.
"Wait what?" Confused, Xu Feng turned to her with a dazed look, just in time for the perfect frame of the iconic selfie.
It took Xu Feng a few seconds to compose the meaning together before he realized what she had just done.
"Delete the selfie right now, Carmen." He demanded.
If it was a handsome picture of him, he wouldn't mind, but he knew his condition better than anyone else. The consequences would be unimaginable if the selfie was to leak elsewhere.
Him and being dirt-face, in a literal sense?
That kind of photo must be erased at all costs!
"We can take a selfie, but after I clean up." Xu Feng continued.
Alas, Carmen would be a fool to agree to his demand. Why would she delete a funny photo for another one?
"No can do, Guild Leader." Carmen shook her head and shrugged. "You can kill me, torture me, or do whatever you have in your wicked mind, but I still won't delete it."
As Xu Feng glared at her for another few minutes, he took a deep breath and stored his shovel.
"Whatever then, keep it or share it. Just remember I'm a real petty man." He subtly warned her of the consequences.
"Sure, I'll be keeping watch of my petty Guild Leader's revenge." Carmen mused, clearly refusing to believe he would actually go through with it.
Sure, he was petty and a menace to others, but she hadn't seen him actually harm her whatsoever throughout their interactions.
In fact, she was positive that the name Zhao Kai, whom he had spouted earlier, was the newly promoted member of the Vanguard Guild, Shadow Blade.
Currently, aside from Xu Feng's position as the Guild Leader, only she and Shadow Blade held the Commander position.
The guild ranking system in the Divine World was divided from highest to lowest: Guild Leader, Vice Guild Leader, Commander, Captain, Elite Member, Member, Junior Member, and Recruit.
Although she had protested in the past regarding her high rank just below the Vice Guild Leader, Xu Feng mentioned that he didn't mind giving her the Vice Guild Leader position if she continued to protest.
Thus, Carmen could only reluctantly accept Commander, and as for the others who had joined the Vanguard Guild.
They were all stuck at the lowest rank possible, a Recruit. And to be promoted, they must earn a lot of GMP (Guild Merit Points), plus several missions required from the guild itself.
Till now, not a single individual had gained enough to be promoted from Recruit to a Junior Member. It goes to show just how tedious and difficult it was to rise in the guild.
Therefore, for Shadow Blade— someone whom she had never met to be promoted to Commander was shocking enough for her. Unless it was someone Xu Feng fully trusted, he would have never promoted someone else who didn't contribute much to the guild.
While Carmen was pondering their closeness, Xu Feng finally finished his preparations.
Within the small pit, there were many herbs thrown in it, almost as if he was trying to make a herbal soup.
"Are we having a hotpot in the small pit?" Carmen asked curiously, allowing her intrusive thoughts to win. Hotpot was a classic cuisine that referred to boiling soup in a pot and people would dump raw food, usually thin-sliced meat, and other seafood to let it cook thoroughly from the soup broth.
Naturally, referring to his hard effort as making a hotpot was an indirect insult to him.
"No, this is a preparation to gain the infinite glitch exp I mentioned before." Xu Feng rubbed his temples and explained patiently.
Had it been Zhao Kai or someone else, he was ready to give the person a ruthless bashing.
However, he couldn't because it was Carmen— someone who actually assisted him greatly in the situation at Star Falls City.
"What does this small pit and a pile of herbs could do for us?" Seemingly skeptical, Carmen couldn't understand the action.
Xu Feng also understood her position, given he was once like her as well, believing this was all just nonsensical and retarded idiot being at work.
"Here, let me send you a guild team invite." Xu Feng said and sent her an invitation.
A guild team invite was different from a regular team invite. Guild team invites are specific to fellow guild members only, but the experience shared was increased and could be manipulated, unlike team invites.
Team invites could include different types of players, but the experience shares are fixed and the one who contributed the most would receive a bit more.
After accepting the guild invites, Carmen's eyes socket dropped.
She gazed at Xu Feng with an unfriendly look. "Is this your pettiness revenge?"
The experience shared was actually 70-30, with Xu Feng being 70. It was hard for her to not presume he was doing it out of spite for the selfie.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng didn't bother explaining and shared his status screen with her.
Carmen frowned slightly after being flashed with his status screen.
"Tsk, this is really a scamming guild." She clicked her tongue in annoyance, having understood his meaning. "Just how are you so under-level but managed to bypass the system's restriction to enter the city first?"
"It's called skill," Xu Feng pointed at his brain, clearly flexing a little bit.
Nevertheless, Xu Feng proceeded to ignite the herbs with Sacred Fire and took a seat near a tree.
"What are you doing?" Confused, Carmen glanced at him and then the ignited herbs. Suddenly, she felt something bad and realized the source was the small pit.
Amidst her realization, she was inflicted with a status ailment: You have been poisoned!
