Shortly after Xu Feng ended PotionHoarder's life and received another ample supply of potions, the crowd went numb from the scene.
None of them had ever anticipated such a result was possible.
Rather than being besieged by enemies, it was more accurate to say that Eclipse Nova was receiving free delivery of items from the enemies themselves.
"You're OneManMedia, right?" Amidst the silence, Xu Feng suddenly turned to him and asked.
"Ah, yes, that's correct." Startled, OneManMedia quickly snapped out of his daze and replied.
"Hmm, I've heard good things about you from Lin Feng. Keep up the good work." Nodding, Xu Feng praised him and returned to the city with the help of his two Abyssal Phantoms.
He might not be able to fly, but these two creatures could temporarily lift him in the air.
Sometime later, he returned to the top of the building that oversaw the whole fight.
Currently, the monster waves had long lost their momentum and advantage completely. With the revelation of the Oppressive Pillar, the NPCs from Star Falls City were now on the offensive, rather than the defensive.
They were repelling and killing as many monsters as possible. The monsters also seemed to realize it was no longer possible to siege the city and began to retreat.
As for the players who tried to take advantage of the situation, their actions and movements became timid.
Without a doubt, his display of power had deterred their nefarious intentions.
'Others think this is a crisis, but in fact, this is a fortune.' Xu Feng exclaimed inwardly. From start to finish, the battle could have been said to be over the moment he finished his advancement to Tier 1 and underwent the Hidden Class Change quest.
"Um Boss, are we going to make a move now?" Carmen suddenly stepped forward and inquired.
"Oh, that's right." Xu Feng pondered for a moment and decided it wasn't bad to allow those who remained with the guilds to gain some merits.
"Alright, tell the rest they may proceed and kill as many as they want. As for those prominent figures, let Lin Feng handle it when he returns."
"Prominent figures?" Carmen raised an eyebrow. "Do you mean Kralos and PotionHoarder?"
"Mhmm, and not just them. Lanester and Watcher Skye would also become our hostages. This time, it won't be just a simple compensation and we'll forgive them." Xu Feng explained and helped clarify the significance of them to Carmen.
In this battle, it might have been a siege, but in reality, it was a guild war.
Thus, the compensation and punishment for a guild war were far more severe than just random skirmishes in the open field.
"I understand." Carmen nodded in understanding.
"The Guild Leader did send me a message earlier that he's done with the inspection that you assigned him." She added, notifying Eclipse Nova of Lin Feng's message. By now, her suspicion of these two being the same had been dispelled.
After all, the message arrived while Eclipse Nova was flexing his power and fighting a 1v5 battle.
However, that was precisely the misconception that Xu Feng wanted to deliver. The message was pre-arranged, along with real-time information about what he was doing.
He merely acted out on a script and the timing of the message itself helped create the belief that Lin Feng was watching the stream from somewhere and commenting on the Boss' action.
As much as he wanted to be transparent with Carmen, the identity of Eclipse Nova must remain a secret only known by him.
Lin Feng could be exposed, but definitely not Eclipse Nova.
"Alright, my task here is done as well. The enemy's formation is a mess now and you can take over. I still have some other tasks to do." Xu Feng responded with an excuse to leave.
Sure enough, Carmen didn't stop him or plan to question his reason for leaving, except for someone: Veronica.
"Hmm?" Surprised, Xu Feng didn't expect Veronica to stand in front of him and block his path.
"Vortex Viper, you—" Carmen tried to call her out from her in-game name to stop her action, but halted when she saw her bowing her head.
"Sorry, Boss. My actions previously were rude and disrespectful." Veronica subsequently apologized for her action during their first meeting.
Although she wasn't openly antagonized, anyone could discern that she was displeased and dissatisfied with his absence in the guild's crisis.
Amused by her behavior, Xu Feng honestly wasn't even mad at her. It was only human nature to doubt any newcomer who was supposedly their leader but remained a no-show.
Had the situation been reversed and Xu Feng was still the old him, then he would have reacted more fiercely and rudely.
"There's no need to apologize." Xu Feng replied.
"Your concern for the guild's wellbeing was commendable, but I do wish for you to learn from this mistake. Never judge a book by its cover. This statement doesn't simply emphasize on a book cover but on people as well."
Some might not understand his meaning right away, but for Veronica, it was quite crystal clear to her.
'Right, we've just met and my prejudice has taken over me. I still have to learn a lot more.' Veronica was disappointed in her behavior. This was especially true when she realized how Carmen managed to act more maturely than she did.
Since this was the Divine World and not the real world, Veronica had failed to understand that the two worlds weren't much different.
"Thank you for the advice, Boss." Veronica thanked him sincerely. She now understood that she needed to treat the Divine World more solemnly— similar to the real world.
Seeing the eyes in her expression, Xu Feng didn't bother to respond any further. There was no need for it.
He retrieved a Scroll and activated it. And without informing anyone where he would go, he vanished from the top of the building.
A few seconds later, Carmen smiled at her and said, "I'm glad things were resolved."
"Yes, the Boss is really something else." Veronica pursed her lips.
