While Xu Feng's words had successfully intrigued her, he refrained from spilling anything.
"Sorry, but payment first." He tapped his finger lightly on the table.
"Huh, so it's the type of mystery information that you won't know unless you pay in advance." Floral Witch became amused. Rather than annoyed, she was more determined than ever to get her hands on this information.
She doubted Xu Feng would be trying to scam her for a measly 500 gold coins, when their transaction deal earlier could earn him even more.
"I'm a little bit short on gold coins though. Do you perhaps take cash instead?" She suggested.
"No gold coins, no information." Unfortunately for her, Xu Feng no longer dared to take her as some naive person. He remained adamant in his decision and wanted gold coins only. Cash might sound greater, but the truth was that he didn't lack any of that— at least not yet.
What he lacked the most in his current situation was gold coins.
After all, the Divine World only recognized coins and not dollars or other forms of currency yet.
"Ugh, you really are the petty type." She clicked her tongue, opened a transaction, and placed 500 gold coins. "There, accept it and spill out everything. You better not try to conceal or act mysterious. Go straight to the point!"
Xu Feng didn't bother to comment on him being a petty type and gracefully accepted the extra 500 gold coins.
"The main event is upcoming. If you want to survive, then make sure to stack up the ingredients in the list and concoct the special potion. It's not only effective but it can also alleviate the pressure that you will have to face."
"The main event?" Floral Witch was alarmed and when she glanced at the long list of ingredients, her eyes quickly widened.
"Are you sure this is not some kind of scam to force me to buy more from you?" She asked skeptically.
When Xu Feng noticed her confusion, he was in deep thought. The system had truly outplayed the players heavily.
Despite having undergone the first major update, most of the players had already forgotten the details of it. Players were now focused on clearing dungeons and reaching level 30 to advance to Tier 1.
None of them had managed to recall what the major update was about and failed to understand the terrifying threat that was looming over them.
"Did you forget about the Siege of Colossus?" He inquired softly. It wasn't that he wanted to be generous, but the mere fact that this big fat black sheep must be maintained.
He couldn't afford to let her falter right after a very big transaction.
Where else could he butcher this kind of black sheep if the black sheep got stomped and obliterated by some pieces of rocks?
"Siege of Colossus…" As Floral Witch continued to repeat this familiar word, she finally recalled where she had seen it. "Right, the major update that made all players log out."
As if she had been enlightened, her back was slightly drenched as she realized just how dangerous it would have been had she remained ignorant of the matter.
She hurriedly took another glance at the ingredient list, as well as how to prepare and use them.
Almost immediately, she realized how great of a bargain she had just made by paying Xu Feng 500 gold coins.
"This information is really not worth a measly 500 gold coins." She smiled bitterly and felt somewhat awkward about her previous thought. Indeed, she didn't believe Xu Feng would attempt to scam her, but she also doubted whatever information he was about to say was worth the price.
Oh, how wrong was she!
Not only was the information extremely worth the price— it was even over the amount she would have been willing to pay.
Just as she was about to give her thanks, Xu Feng raised his hand and halted her.
"No need for gratitude. If you survive in one piece, then that will do me a favor already." Xu Feng calmly said.
Nodding in response, Floral Witch smiled slightly and bid farewell. Now that she had been enlightened by this information, she needed to hurry back and make the preparations.
And from that slight smile he witnessed, Xu Feng was positive that she was cooking up a deadly scheme against her eldest siblings. There was no way she wouldn't understand his intention when he gave her that kind of list.
'Since she's my business partner, then her enemies needed to be eliminated.' Xu Feng stretched his shoulders.
Sometime later, he returned to Star Falls City and met up with Carmen.
"So anything good?" Carmen asked immediately. "I do like an upgrade in my equipment."
"I didn't bid anything." Xu Feng responded honestly.
A few minutes later, Xu Feng explained the gist of the situation to her.
By the time he finished, Carmen had her lips pursed, her expression quite unfriendly as she glanced at him up and down.
"Another female business partner huh. Are you building some kind of harem or what?" She asked coldly, clearly despising him for constantly looking for female allies.
"Do I look like the type to favor women over men?" Xu Feng rolled his eyes.
"The reason why the majority of them are female is because they aren't hostile to me, unlike males who are clearly jealous of my ability." He continued.
"Sure, whatever makes you feel better." She shrugged, found an empty seat, and sat down. "Anyway, so are we going to make any preparations for the main event?"
With the change of topic, Xu Feng quickly nodded, "Yes, but not in Star Falls City."
He then stood up and pointed at a far distance. "Star Falls City won't be in danger anymore, but there's one that will be. I'm sure some of our loyal members have been feeling quite down for not being able to do much. Well, the time for them to shine and receive the real benefit of our guild will begin."
