With both hands occupied in offensive weaponry, Zhao Kai went straight for the Colossus.
The damage output visibly increased as it showed the health bar of the Colossus slowly depleting. It wasn't big or anything, but it was certainly not merely chipping away some of the health either.
"Kai, I don't want to disturb your slashing and shooting, but you should know the limit." Xu Feng's voice suddenly echoed in Zhao Kai's frenzy mind.
"Huh? Can't you see me literally being a Colossus Slayer?" Alarmed, Zhao Kai couldn't comprehend the warning.
In response, Xu Feng simply facepalmed.
Yup, it was without a doubt that Zhao Kai never glanced at the Colossus' health bar once and was just attacking. His attack was indeed flashy, but other than that, there was not much substance.
Yet for some reason, Zhao Kai was still capable of dodging the attack from the Colossus in an untimely manner. It was as if the attack was purposely avoiding him.
"Feng, I know you're worried about me being killed for not paying much attention, but trust me." Zhao Kai pressed on. He then sidestepped and barely avoided a smash from the Colossus. He used the ripple effect to swing his body around for another whirlwind slash.
When Zhao Kai had worded like that, Xu Feng simply decided to not do any backseat gaming. Indeed, he was worried about Zhao Kai since it was technically his first-time solo in the grand scheme of plan.
Truthfully, there was still a little bit of guilt that he had concealed. If Zhao Kai failed to deliver in performance, then Xu Feng had to halt his project.
'I should have just let him do his thing.' Taking a deep breath, Xu Feng stopped trying to act like some babysitter.
Although Zhao Kai behaved quite eccentrically, he was definitely not the type to joke around when it came to serious events.
Had it been Carmen who was the one doing the solo play, then Xu Feng wouldn't have worried at all. After all, he knew about her potential from the past timeline.
However, the same could not be said for Zhao Kai, who had disappeared by this time. Thus, he was naturally worried and had to be aware of things behind the scenes that may or may not harm him.
As Xu Feng contemplated his overprotective behavior, Zhao Kai, on the other hand, was more carefree.
Despite facing a massive Colossus who hit like a damn truck, Zhao Kai was exhilarated.
"Take this slash and this." Zhao Kai swung his sword back and forth before swapping to his other weapon, the gun. "Now take some bullets as well. You're bound to crack with this much!"
He then fired repeatedly on the same area numerous times. He spotted the Critical Flesh Points that were constantly shifting. But rather than focusing on them, he decided to focus on one singular point.
Sure, it nullified the damage by a lot by ignoring it. But in exchange for sacrificing damage, Zhao Kai could prioritize ruining the structure of the Colossus. This was something he discovered during his trial for the Hidden Class, Eclipser Knight.
Critical Flesh Points were indeed a great bonus for extra damage, but when facing a strong enemy. Just focusing on them alone was not enough. He needed to do better and learn to ruin the enemy's structure to disrupt its movement in a timely manner.
The effect wouldn't be visible immediately because it required time to actually realize the benefit.
'The leg of the Colossus is slowly shifting and becoming imbalanced.' Zhao Kai thought.
Alas, while he was distracted to take a moment to glance at the damage, the Colossus' eyes glinted in a cold light.
In the blink of an eye, the Colossus' speed suddenly increased. And its arm also turned hollow. Amidst the hollow space, numerous rocks lined up perfectly, and almost as if it was ready for firing.
Zhao Kai wasn't able to detect the changes but he sensed danger. His senses had heightened up since the advancement, and without hesitation. He quickly swapped his gun to a shield again.
Unfortunately, the swapping was still a bit too late. He failed to completely cover himself on the vulnerable spot as the Colossus fired a barrage of rocks imbued with magic.
Zhao Kai crashed to the ground, but he had no time to breathe.
The Colossus took advantage of its enemy, who had been a nuisance the entire time. It raised its foot and stomped heavily on the spot where Zhao Kai landed.
Upon seeing the massive foot that was about to squash his every bone into dust, Zhao Kai remained calm.
He pointed his sword and started to activate the slash, allowing him to create a knockback effect and propelled himself while in the ground.
As he shifted his position just barely in time, the stomp from the Colossus narrowly missed. However, it seemed to have anticipated Zhao Kai's action.
Sure enough, the ground beneath Zhao Kai started to tremble heavily.
"Who the hell says size doesn't matter?" He clicked his tongue. The stomp attack might have missed, but the aftermath of it enabled the ground to crack.
Had it been any small individual, it would have been impossible for the ground to crack and form a fissure after one singular stomp.
As the fissure started to enlarge, Zhao Kai tried to lift himself up with the shield and dash to a safe spot.
Yet the moment he tried to escape toward a direction, the Colossus would fire its rock to hinder his path.
Realizing that the Colossus didn't have the intention to kill him through that move, he turned his attention to him.
"So you want to bury me alive?" He questioned with a cold grin on his face.
The Colossus didn't respond in words and merely stomped again to cause the ground to crack even deeper.
"Then you shouldn't have made your leg vulnerable in the first place!"
Shortly after saying so, Zhao Kai blinked from his spot and re-emerged next to the Colossus' leg.
And in the very next second, Zhao Kai bombarded the leg with everything he had, saving zero skills.
