As Zhao Kai clashed against the Colossus in the air, the two started to create sparks of fire around their surroundings.
The battle was intense, and the health bar between the two was constantly fluctuating.
Similar to Colossus' regenerative ability, Zhao Kai himself was also receiving healing. It was as if the two had infinite health and could not be killed.
However, one noticeable part about the battle was the collateral damage dealt to the field. Unlike Zhao Kai who had rushed in alone, the Colossus were commanding a large number of monsters.
And the unlucky monsters who got caught in the crossfire in their battle were killed. In response to that effect, Zhao Kai's experience bar subsequently rose, stealing all the experience points for himself.
After all, the Colossus wouldn't be able to share the experience points. As for the other players, they weren't able to participate in the battle, to begin with.
'My goodness. This is just like free farming with a big boss.' Zhao Kai inwardly exclaimed.
It was already shocking enough that he managed to remain airborne for a long time. Yet to think he would continuously receive experience points while fighting was next level.
Time continued to pass by, and at the height of their battle of attrition, the weaknesses of the Colossus began to show.
Its so-called regenerative ability was lacking, and it was unable to recover its health much.
On the contrary, Zhao Kai's health bar was still full, given that he was receiving the healing from miles away.
"Oh my, you can't heal anymore?" Zhao Kai taunted when he noticed the duration of the Frost Aura was vanishing.
"Did you not bring any backup supplies for recovery?" He continued, clearly taking joy in the Colossus' plight.
"GRR!" Infuriated, the Colossus made a low threatening growl. It appeared to be stating that he should watch his mouth.
"You mad?" Zhao Kai chuckled. "Well, it can't be as mad as me who got hit in the back. Now it's your karma."
With that said, Zhao Kai leaped forward and unleashed a barrage of attacks.
He ignored all defense, mainly because there were just too many stacked barriers in his arsenal.
The Colossus was indeed fuming in response. It tried its best to deal as much damage to Zhao Kai as possible.
However, for some reason, it felt their offensive power had decreased tremendously. Even its personal aura seemed to be dimming as time continued to go by.
The attack they unleashed was indeed very flashy, but when coming into contact with Zhao Kai's barrier. The power dissipated and spread all across before becoming nothing.
While the Colossus' attack was ineffective, Zhao Kai, on the other hand, seemed to be the actual boss. Not only had his attack power increased, but it didn't appear to show any signs of stopping.
If anyone were to look at the current scene, then they would have suspected Zhao Kai of taking some steroids or equivalent consumables.
He was like a combo king.
Shortly after firing some rounds of his gun, Zhao Kai would swap the gun to his sword for slashing.
And when that was done, he would swap the sword for a shield and bashed the Colossus with it. There was literally zero gap in between the attacks and Zhao Kai ensured the Colossus had no time to rest whatsoever.
However, that wasn't the most infuriating part of it.
Being hit was fine since that was what a battle should be, but being hit and being insulted simultaneously was different.
It wasn't even the typical insult either, but a rambling of trash talk that could easily cloud up the screen if there were text bubbles.
"Anyway, big Rocky, why did you awaken just to become a punching bag?"
"If I were you, then I would have continued the slumber and avoided being beaten up."
"But what am I saying? You're just some big rock without much of a brain. It's like a mountain, but immovable. Why don't you just stay down?"
"Huh, no more stupid growling anymore? Did you waste all your energy and need to sleep again? Ah, where am I going to find the joy of beating up a punching bag if you sleep?"
Amidst the rambling, the Colossus seemed more exhausted and resorted to covering their ears. It might not understand the words that were coming out of Zhao Kai's mouth, but it definitely knew it was anything but great things.
Meanwhile, the most painful one was Xu Feng, who had to watch the entire thing through the video call.
Luckily, he wasn't dumb like the Colossus who took forever to cover their ears.
"I thank the system for the mute option." Xu Feng thanked the system wholeheartedly. He had muted Zhao Kai ever since he heard the first rambling speech.
Never once did he anticipate or ever believe Zhao Kai had a knack for pissing the enemy off through his mouth alone.
"This Kai has been hiding his talent all along." Xu Feng rubbed his chin. As much as he refused to listen to his blabbering nonstop that meant to taunt and provoke the enemy. This was legit the perfect weapon against his enemies.
What could be more effective than trash talk?
It wasn't some type of skill that had a cooldown. The only negative part of trash talk was whether or not the trash talker could hit a nerve or not.
So long as they knew their opponent's weakness, then they could capitalize on that to ensure the opponent can't perform well.
After all, the mute option was only available in video call, but not when you're face to face.
Had that been a feature, then the world would have been a much better place without having to listen to certain individuals.
While Xu Feng was pondering how to make use of this discovery of talent from Zhao Kai, the latter had finally killed the Colossus. Though rather than killed, it looked more like the Colossus wanted to end themselves.
'Well, it was either to be killed or killed when faced with such a trash talker.' Xu Feng didn't disapprove of the Colossus' decision.
