He refused to believe Malefic Order Guild was that amazing in finding out the secret deal. It could only be leaked to them from inside the circle of Flora Walton.
Sure enough, the culprit decided to show themselves after having falsely believed in victory: Gloria Walton.
And thanks to her maneuver, the second part of his objective fell through as well.
However, that wasn't even the reason why he got mad. Instead, he was mad because till now, the enemies still dared to take him and his guild lightly.
Despite his performance, they still labeled them as a mere upstart guild who got some fame.
Such delusional people naturally needed to be taught a thorough lesson.
As for the identification card, the truth was that he hadn't agreed to be a fighter. It was just that the person who approached him was Ning Huo and Alfred.
Ning Huo was the father of Ning Yi and Alfred was the uncle of Allison's.
Considering how the two did him a favor in the past, he didn't reject them on the spot and said he would think about it.
In the end, they agreed and gave him an identification card anyway, stating that it would be helpful to him.
With that being said, Xu Feng would naturally not refuse the gesture and took the card for granted. It was just that he never expected he would ever be forced into a situation where he was required to flash that card in public.
"Well, so when are you going to be fighting in the City Competition?" Veronica was clever enough to not focus on the topic and shifted the conversation.
She knew he was definitely furious and would probably plan something with her Guild Leader. Therefore, she didn't need to inquire and simply needed to wait for an order.
Instead, she was much more curious about his current status and how he planned on fighting among many other fighters.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng looked at her with a funny expression. "Who said anything about participating in the City Competition?"
"Eh?" Dumbfounded, Veronica thought her brain short-circuited. She had to pause for a second to recollect her thoughts.
"W-Wait a second… you have the identification card to participate in the City Competition though. Those kinds of cards cannot be faked or replicated."
"Yes, I have it, but that doesn't mean I'm definitely going to participate in it."
Silent, Veronica was truly taken aback by his statement.
Many sought to become even eligible to participate in the event. Yet Xu Feng didn't care about it at all.
"You're being sarcastic, right?" She asked skeptically. "You have to be. There's no way you're not humble flexing on me right now."
"Does it look like that?" Xu Feng mused in response.
Sure enough, Veronica's voice caught her thought. Indeed, it didn't appear one bit to her that he was trying to flex his participation status whatsoever. In fact, he kept it concealed until someone uninvited interrupted their dinner.
In the end, she scratched her head and complained about starving. She had worked for the entire afternoon and didn't have anything in her stomach.
"We might as well get some beef kebab." Xu Feng lightly chuckled and pointed at a few food stalls that were operating at nighttime. The aroma emitting from the food stalls was enticing and pleasant to smell.
Veronica gave a quick sniff as well and agreed to the beef kebab.
"I want them spicy." She demanded. "That Gloria woman from earlier is really full of herself. Did she see how much of a big shot she tried to pretend to be? Gosh, I hate women like her."
"Haha, then it was a good thing we fled right away. Otherwise, we might be infected by her viruses." Xu Feng laughed and arrived at the food stall.
He then ordered 10 beef kebabs and some other available kebabs.
The chef readily accepted their money and began grilling them. Instantly, the smokey air and the aroma exploded in their nostrils.
"Damn, this is the kind of food I prefer." Veronica clasped her hands, drools seemed to be leaking from the corner of her mouth. "I didn't know why you had to reserve that fancy restaurant."
"My apologies, I didn't expect Forest Group to be useless. Plus, I thought you would prefer a classy diner." Xu Feng raised his hands in surrender.
In the past timeline, whenever he interacted with people in the first-graded city, they would always prefer fancy food.
Thus, he had a misconception that Veronica and Carmen might be the same. But in his honest opinion, food was considered great because it tasted amazing, and not because of some gimmick or nonsensical performance.
"Chef, give us the kebab when it's done grilling. I can't wait for you to finish cooking them all at once." Veronica completely ignored him and turned to the chef, demanding the kebab.
"Haha, very well." The chef laughed merrily and gladly handed over some of the kebabs while grilling some more. Since Xu Feng had paid in full already, there was no harm in doing so.
While Veronica enjoyed her fill, Xu Feng had already begun contacting people in the Divine World to commence the plan.
Although he didn't plan on actually going through with it, the action and decision that Green Life Corp made today had disappointed him thoroughly.
Not to mention, they even addressed the media while they were busy recruiting people from the inspection site, shifting all the blame on Frederick.
'If you want to play that game, then so be it.' Xu Feng smirked. He could do this all day long.

Shortly after the battlefield was somewhat cleaned up 80%, Gentle Wind was caught off-guard by another announcement from the Vanguard Guild.
[Green Life Corp's action had severely disappointed us. In response, our Vanguard Guild hereby declares the end of the Vegan Life Guild and anyone affiliated with Green Life Corp.]
"My goodness… Why would Green Life Corp behave so foolishly?" Stunned, Gentle Wind's eyes widened in disbelief. They chose to get themselves wiped rather than make amends.
